~ Roommate ~
When the end of the day arrived, Bella was more than obliging when she was directed by one of her seniors to the room where she'd had to leave her belongings that morning. She couldn't wait to meet her roommate and see what her new home looked like.
She had signed up for a female dorm, purely because there was no way she'd feel comfortable living with a guy. She didn't have anything against men, she was just acutely aware of her own attractiveness - not that she would ever brag about it - and she didn't want for that to be a distraction if her roommate were to be male. It wouldn't only be a distraction for him, but for her as well as she knew she would never have time for a relationship of any kind if she wanted to make it to the Olympics.
Bella entered the room and quickly located her bags, struggling to carry them all as she went to the office to collect her room number and key.
"Hello! Can I have your name please?" The lady on the front desk asked.
"Bella Batchelor," she replied, eyeing the woman's frantic tapping on her keyboard as she typed in Bella's name.
"Room two-hundred and fifty-seven," the woman smiled, handing Bella a key with a small keyring attached that read her room number and name in case she ever lost it.
"Thank you," Bella muttered before turning to leave the office to allow the next eager freshman to enter.
She found it odd that the lady didn't give her a building name, but soon realised why as she eyed the plaques above the entrance doors of the dorms. They were numbered, showing which rooms they held, according to the first number of the dorm room. Bella looked for the building with a plaque that read '2' and excitedly dragged her suitcase behind her as she walked up the short pathway to the entrance.
"Two five four, two five five, two five six... Aha!" Finding her room, she plucked her keys from the back pocket of her jeans and hurriedly unlocked the door, feeling her back ache from the heavy duffle bags on each of her shoulders.
"Home sweet home," Bella announced to her self, standing her suitcase up and allowing the bags to drop off her shoulders and onto the floor of the entrance hall as she looked around.
There was a small kitchen on her left side and a sitting room directly in front of her, spanning the rest of the space she could see. Bella moved further into the apartment, peering behind the wall at the side of the kitchen that led to a small corridor with one door on one side and two on the other.
Sensing that her roommate hadn't arrived yet, she thought she'd take the liberty of choosing her room first; first come, first served was what she thought.
Her body moved her towards the singular door on one side of the corridor first. She opened the door and her eyebrows immediately raised in surprise, before furrowing in confusion.
"I guess my roommate is a sophomore," Bella thought aloud, looking among the neatly furnished room, the only thing giving away that the room was already occupied was the pair of skinny jeans that were laid out on the bed. Bella closed the door, not wanting to invade her roommate's privacy any more than she had unintentionally done, and moved to the first door on the other side.
This door opened to show the bathroom, white tiles and appliances - including a bath and shower cubicle - making the place look more luxurious than was typical of a university dormitory. After a nod of approval, Bella closed the door and shifted to the last door in the corridor: her bedroom.
A spacious double bed was the first thing she saw when she opened the door and walked in. Her aching body yearned to sink into the soft mattress, but she knew if she allowed for that, she would never get unpacked. She quickly glanced around the room, noticing a sliding door with a full length mirror on it, that led to a small closet, before she went back to the entrance hall to drag her bags into her room.
After unpacking one of her duffle bags - the one full to the brim with leotards and various sports clothing - Bella decided that would do for today and went to the sitting room. Plonking herself down on the sofa, she questioned in her head when her roommate would get home so she could introduce herself.
As if said roommate read her mind, Bella heard the sound of keys jiggling before the lock turned and the door to her dorm flew open. She quickly stood up and brushed off her jeans in case they were creased before raising her head to look at her roommate. Their figure was also frozen at this point, eyeing Bella's unexpected presence.
When her eyes met the person standing with their back to the door, they widened and her jaw dropped what felt like ten feet. Why was she so shocked?
Because none other than Min Yoongi was stood in the entrance hall to her dorm.
"What the fuck!" Both shouted simultaneously.
