Once upon a time in a different and somewhat magical realm there was 8 wise people. These wise people were the first rulers of the ring's kingdom. They made a special deal with some special rings. The special thing about theses rings is that they are made for certain people with certain traits and powers. The leader of this group, the controller of the soul, made this special enchantment on the rings so they can only be worn by people who will not be tempted by the power. If worn by the proper people then powers will be granted to them to help them rule. Each ring stands for different things.
Ring one, the leader of the others, the ring of the soul
Ring two, usually the right hand man, the ring of fears
Ring three, the ring of pride.
Ring four, the ring of healing.
Ring five, the ring of wisdom.
Ring six, the ring of deceit.
Ring seven, the ring of comradeship.
Ring eight, the ring of strength.
These rings were given to the ring carrier, Barren, with his wife, Margot. They were granted immortally and power but only in a staff. It is said that they still carry them around for the kingdom.
The last of the latest generation of the rulers just died and Barren has been looking for the next rulers. He has found two of the eight rulers. He knows that they are in different realms.
"Janna, Jake, are you two sure you know what you are doing? We need them here safe and willing" Barren was sending the two to find the others.
"Barren, relax. We got this! We'll be back soon," Janna drops a stone which starts up a portal, "Bye guys!" They jump through the portal and go to where the first four are, our world...
