Have you ever heard about the Slenderman easter egg in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare? Little did everyone know that Popcap and EA secretly added another creepypasta easter egg, this time in their latest game, Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville.
I see that you're all caught up as I mentioned about this secret easter egg no one knows about.
This is the story about a boy who had his encounter in Battle for Neighborville with Siren Head.
The story revolves around a sixteen-year-old boy named Caden who played Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. Keep in mind that this event took place AFTER BFN got less popular; this story took place around 2020. He was the type of guy that loved to explore easter eggs, secret locations, and glitches in video games. He was also the type of guy who loved to read creepypastas. Most of the time, he would listen to PvZ creepypastas on YouTube, by a YouTuber called NeonPlantChris. The day he found out about the Slenderman easter egg from Garden Warfare, he became highly aware that PopCap were putting creepypasta easter eggs in the game for people to explore. Caden got excited and tried finding more, but he couldn't find anything else creepypasta-related in the game.
One day around late 2020, while he was browsing through Reddit, he saw a post relating to Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. It said that the person who posted the post found Siren Head lurking in a part of the forest near Z-Tech Factory in Weirding Woods. No one really believed this post, but being the type of guy Caden was, he knew he had to try it out, fake or real.
So that night, after dinner, Caden rushed upstairs and got onto his PS4 to start up Battle for Neighborville. He entered a match in Weirding Woods. When the match started, he headed to Z-Tech Factory and all the way to the southwest part of the map. According to the Reddit post, there was a secret spot between the trees that one could no-clip through to glitch out of the map. The no-clipping could only work in a competitive match so if you got killed by a player once, the no-clipping wouldn't work anymore until the next match one enters.
It took a while for Caden to no-clip while being cautious of his surroundings. After a few seconds of trying, he managed to glitch through the trees. Phase one had been done; Caden successfully glitched out of the map. With one push of his joystick, he moved his character through the trees to the point where he couldn't hear the sounds of battling in the background.
As he got deeper into the forest though, the sky got darker and darker, and a slight mist formed everywhere. The trees turned from tall spruce trees to leafless skeletons of what once used to be trees the deeper he went. Oddly, the textures of the trees and ground looked realistic. Caden, slightly scared, turned around to go back, but he forgot where he came from. He was lost. His instincts kicked in, this wasn't Battle for Neighborville anymore.
Caden tried turning off his PS4 but it wouldn't let him. He tried to take the disc out but the drive wouldn't budge. But before Caden could do anything else, that's when he heard it through his headset:
The sound of a warning siren.
Caden knew at this point that the easter egg was real alright, but not knowing what to do, decided to run around in the forest to either find or get killed by the Siren Head.
After running through the forest of the night, Caden stopped to take a break. He ended up in front of a broken-down bus. It was odd but the bus looked familiar to a dreadful event that happened. Caden's brother died in a bus crash on a field trip three years ago. Caden then heard noises in the distance. It was the sound of his brother that died. It echoed through the trees, calling out for Caden.
Caden, confused and curious, headed to the direction of the sound. The sound got louder and louder in the direction he went, and it eventually stopped when Caden came across a small withered church and a graveyard. Caden moved his character towards the tombs when he noticed a glistering tomb beneath a rotten flesh-liked tree. Caden walked up to it and looked closely at the grave.
It was the exact grave of his brother, and the exact same one.
The exact same one that was at the cemetery his brother was buried at.
Shocked and terrified, Caden tried to run only to realise the tree behind the grave wasn't a tree at all. He looked up only to stand face-to-face with the monster, Siren Head itself.
With one swoop of a hand, the monster grabbed Caden's character and lifted him up. Caden tried to take his headset off and shut the game down, but it was too late. Siren Head started playing a noise through its sirens, leaving Caden in a trance-like state, being unable to move. He watched as Siren Head lifted his character up and from a mesmerizing sound, turned into high frequency sounds that made the in-game character's ears bleed. Blood gushed everywhere.
As that happened, Caden's headset began sparking with sparks. It turned out the headset couldn't take the noise released by the Siren Head and caused his headset to soon catch fire. Unable to take them off in a trance state, Caden went crazy and started having a seizure. The game then crashed due to the high amount of sound waves produced in the system.
Caden's parents heard the noise in his room, only to discover him suffering from a seizure. They took off his headphones and rushed him to the hospital, but by the time they got there, it was too late. Caden didn't make it, he died on the way to the hospital.
Whenever I tell this story, they never believe me. Many people never believe me.
They had the funeral days later.
How do I know all about this?
Well, I've been investigating on these issues recently, issues of one person encountering a black (colored) weed, and another person encountering a black (colored) hypno-shroom all in the same game series. What's scary is that Siren Head wasn't a fun easter egg for players to discover out of bounds. Popcap took notice and removed it instantly without anyone knowing. It wasn't Popcap who added Siren Head in though, but by someone who hacked the system.
...and that was coded for a sinister purpose.
