I have no clue what to say to y'all today so I'll leave you to it...maybe *WARNING EVIDENCE AND MENTION OF ABUSE*

(Marly POV)

"Chin up, Marlene, " My mother whispered to me quickly.

"I know," I lifted my head, "why must we always come to these things?"

"You know why," My father said. I rolled my eyes and itched my neck where the collar of my dress rubbed.

"Your school friends try to control our lives. Why don't we just kick them out of our lives instead?" I reasoned.

"Marlene!" my mother gasped, "You can't talk like that, especially this close to their Manor."

"Yea, Mars," teased Maxwell as he stuck his tongue out at me and bumped into me. I went to retaliate and punch him, but my mother grabbed my shoulders reminding me that I'm supposed to be a lady for the next three hours. My brothers all laughed because all they have to do is be normal boys and fool around outside, while I have to sip tea and pretend to care about blood status, money, and arranged marriages. I scoffed and held my hand with my other daintily in front of my body and walked with my mother up to the large house. My father raised his hand and knocked on the door. A small elf opens the door.

"Good afternoon, Mister McKinnon, shall I show you to the parlor," asked the house elf bowing low.

"Yes," My father replied, I almost added a 'please' but I remembered that I wasn't to speak to the house elves.

"Right this way, sir" the small elf led us through hall after hall until we finally reached an open room filled with chairs that look sophisticated couches where the mothers had already gathered and were sipping tea, the fathers all stood in a corner talking in harsh whispers about varying topics that are not considered ladylike, the daughters of the Pureblood families were seated next to their mothers keeping quiet and only talking when spoken to, and through the large window that covered the back wall I could see all the young boys wrestling and messing around with each other in their fancy clothes and shoes. Some had even gotten out brooms and were flying around. I'd do almost anything to be out there beating them.

"Marlene, darling, are you watching my little Regulus out there?" perked up Mrs. Walburga Black, as she walked over to me and wrapped an arm around me, "I'm sure you'd love him!"

"Is that so," I started but my mother's look made me rethink my words, "he seems like quite the gentleman."

"Aw, how sweet come have a seat now, I'll get you a cup of tea," smiled Narcissa. She was the only one who still kind to me after I was sorted into Gryffindor. Gosh I wish I could've stayed at Lily's.

"Thank you, Miss Black," I answered politely as I took the seat next to hers.

"Why is she even allowed here anymore? She's a Gryffindor," pouted Bellatrix, "Sirius isn't allowed down here!"

"Bella! That is no way to treat your friends! She was put in Gryffindor by mistake, that's been made clear, now apologize for your outburst, and Sirius is a bloodtrader Miss McKinnon is not!" scolded Cissy's and Bella's mother.

"I'm sorry for my irrational behavior, I'm happy you could attend," strained Bellatrix, our relationship was never the same after the sorting hat screamed out the house she hated.

"It's really not a problem, but thank you, Bella, I'm happy to be here," I answered her just as falsely as she had apologized. My mother sensed my rudeness and pinch the back of my arm in warning. I hate it when my parents have to act all fancy and uptight, it's not usually like this. I like it when we're at home and we all can joke around about being proper, playing the piano, or learning french and latin. This was a different environment we were loved for being proper and stuck up around these people and it drove me mad. All they seem to care about is whether or not their sons will get decent jobs, the extinction of muggleborns, and if their daughters will be courted off to the right testosterone filled pureblood male. I of course got assigned to the Black brothers, though my parents say I can marry who I wish, when around these monstrosities I practically belong to the black family tree already. However, I guess I don't belong to Sirius anymore thank goodness. Now I don't have a choice if my parents change their minds and will have to marry Regulus becuase Sirius got shamed for being put in Gryffindor whereas I was pitied. I've never even met Reggie properly, he isn't even in school yet! He's younger than me!
