To love or to be loved? That is the question. But for the irony of fate, in reality, none of them stood as a single answer. It's funny because throughout all our lives, we are told that love will solve all our problems, that we live to fall in love and give and than take in return, but no one actually teaches us how to do so.
These are the kind of thoughts that cloud the sleepy brain of a human, in a simple shinny day, as the ugly alarm ringtone fills our ears chasing away the pretty desired morning dreams. We wake up, to get ready for the day of million possibilities that wake up with us.
Outside is beautiful and incomprehensible, but most of us don't even give it the proper importance, and after a certain phase in our life we see it only for our own interests. Like for example: 'It's raining today, I should drive to work. And if it's sunny, I better use the public transport...but if it's warm, I should probably just walk there.' And that's just a loop we created for ourselves to live in. Not noticing the rare birds that fly by, as they happily chirp and tune in their birdsongs...or the many sunrays that desperately try to steal our attention as the fresh air just keeps us alive, passing by unnoticed. Every little thing became so invisible for us, that we finally don't feel the simple things anymore.
Maybe it was the fast life of a city, or just the daily monotony or the squeezed in routine, now filled with work, work and only work. A loop with no loose ends. A circle of life that many chose to walk in everyday. But the thing is...Everyday comes with new choices, endless possibilities of how the day could possibly ever go. The important thing remains the way we choose to spend this day and what this choice will bring us.

Friday...
Here's another day out of the ordinary routine. Friday...This one having a slight difference from all other days. It was the end of an intensive week of whatever job a normal average person would choose. Making this day the most awaited day out of the 7. On top of which Monday stood with a evil nametag printed across it. But its understandable that it isn't its fault, that we hate our jobs as much as to blame it over a poor week-start day.
And as we talk a young lady wakes up from her morning post-alarm sleep. A sleep that lasted 10 minutes, making her nothing but late for the starting of the day. She's currently stumbling around the no longer hosting warm sheets, trying to brake free of the bed-spell that keeps her pinned down there every single morning.
With no time to waste, she slides in her robe and slippers, rushing to take a quick shower, which included: toothbrushing, hair washing almost ripping the scalp out, quick drying of these hair and body, than a random hair model, just to pull all the unruly chestnut unruly hair in with a tie. Than applying the thinnest layer of makeup, mostly to hide the very little acne that lingered on her clear skin, a bit of blush and a almost invisible lipstick. Formal but acceptable.
Than with the same amount of rush she makes her way back inside the extremely organized bedroom, crashing with the desk on the mean time, she groans and leans down to catch a breath...So that's from where all her unexplainable leg bruises come from than? Wasting less time she throws the plain office wear and tries to find two matching socks from the washed cloths pile hiding in the back of her closet. A side smile creeps on her face when she finds a hidden pair, wearing them immediately.
Although there was no time for breakfast, for her there was always time for a really quick burning coffee. At the kitchen she works the express and sits on top of the counter as the machinery starts to do it's work. She smiles as she remembers how she hated the taste of the coffee as a kid, not knowing that one day she'd be the one to get addicted to it like it was like doses of oxygen to her system. As soon as the coffee is ready she sits properly on the kitchen chair, sipping the hot life juice lazily, loosing the sense of time after each sip passing her lips. So this was her main life joy? A simple morning cup of coffee? The younger her would never be thankful if she knew how she turned out to be. The boring adult she so despised...She thought of her everyday.
But again, taking a look around, things where going fine for now. A job that pays well, a rental nice apartment, too big for only person to live in most of the time, but her long term boyfriend really thought of this place as ideal, that's why they made a deal together and rented it.
The decor was simple and minimalistic, too simple for her taste, but that's the backlash of having an OCD fixated boyfriend. This obsessing organized space made the whole apartment seem distant and cold, but still with a sense of home, brought by the many framed pictures that she fought so hard to keep on display.
As soon as her body evaporated the coffee, she packed her bag, not forgetting the reports laying on the desk or the work-laptop. She's very certain she forgot nothing, so she moves to the door wearing her average heeled shoes, the ones acceptable for work, throwing the bag over her shoulder and walking to the elevator. Once out of the apartment she is busy thinking of which route to take. Walk the distance there or take the car for nothing? Soon she realized it wasn't worthy the effort to enter the dreadful morning traffic, so walking it is.
And maybe that was a caption of her whole life in a few minutes. Predictable, slow but quickly borable. The life of an adult...but the life they never thought of choosing, but got into anyway. No drama, no surprises, no grand changes...Or maybe she just had decided to close an eye against each opportunity given...But now as she sees everything...They where always there, staring right back at her...Like the elephant in the room. Waiting for her to make the right decision.
