Heeled footsteps echo through the hall of the manor. The footsteps match their owner, cold and blood-chilling.
Violet.
A cold souled woman is how many men and women would describe her. Intoxicatingly beautiful, her long, dark hair cascaded down to her waist when it wasn't done up in pins. Her dark, mysterious eyes captivate many people different and alike. Must stay presentable, Violet. Today, she wore a dark gown, as if she was going to a funeral.
Today is special.
Today she is coming.
The road the carriage is traveling on is terribly bumpy. The girl is thrown against each wall after every sharp turn. Her new ivory gown and hat being crumpled. Her hair, slipping out of the pins, strands framing her face and neck. Her gloves are growing too warm, but she promised her mother not to take them off until she reached the manor.
The manor was two days travel from her home in Widston. The trip felt like nothing to her, which is strange as she normally felt tired after only a two-hour trip. This was different though, she was visiting Ms. Violeta Waylaid.
"A very interesting lady," her mother hummed as she was gathering up the girl's chestnut hair up into pins at the back of her head. "Many women are interesting, momma," she simply replied whilst gazing into the mirror at her reflection. "Don't say such things," her mother fastened the last piece of hair and paused, "people will assume you are dammed, my dear."
Dammed...
"Miss," the voice of the carriage driver started her out of her thoughts. She looked up. A tall manor loomed over her. Dark and mysterious, like the owner she presumed. "You've arrived at Morris manor," the driver said again opening the door. "Oh, thank you, sir," the girl murmured while stepping down onto the stone step, then onto the cobblestone pathway to make her way closer towards the manor.
As she walks up the slight hill, she sees a woman in dark clothing waiting at the large entrance. She looks so— so pretty. Like nothing, the girl had ever seen. The dark pinned-up hair flaunted the woman's slender neck and exposed the pale shoulders that look smoother than silk.
She continues walking until she reaches the steps and the woman up close is even more intensely stunning. At this moment the girl didn't care if she is thought of as dammed by any man. She knew she wasn't, that's all that matters to her.
"Hello, Ms. Gray," the woman's voice is smooth and seductive, capable of attracting anyone into her lips. A small smile traces the woman's lips as she begins to speak again with the same antagonizing voice as before, "I have been expecting you. I'm Violeta Waylaid, but please call me Violet." The girl returns the smile and speaks for the first time, "Nice to meet you, Violet. You shall also call me by my first name if you wish," the girl removes her crinkled hat, "I'm sure you are already aware of my first name as you knew my last."
The cool autumn air is finally making her skin aware of its presence. Goosebumps rose on the exposed skin of the girl. She slightly shivers, aware of the noticing eye of Violet in front of her. "You assumed correctly, Lillith," Violet said with a step down the steps until she reaches the one just above Lillith. Reaching a hand out to take the other girl's, Violet says in a whispering breath, "we should get you inside, dear." Lillith allowed Violet to lead her into the large manor.
Inside, the manor's walls, lined with red tapestries, and the floor was a dark mahogany wood where it didn't have an expensive rug laying on it. Violet led the girl through the dim hallway lit with the suttle flames of skinny candles.
"You must be tired. You had quite the trip there Lillith, should I show you your sleeping courters or shall we talk in the study," Violet questions, taking the pins out of her hair and tossing them. "Ah," Lillith hesitated, "I'm not sure what I want." With a smooth chuckle, Violet makes a sudden turn into a room. Lillith hurries to keep up with the fast pace of the woman leading her way.
The room's theme was green, the tapestries were a dark shade of moss, and the bed covers were a lighter grass velvet. The rugs were colored in light sage as well.
"Well," Violet sighs. "I was hoping that Marge was here, but it seems that she went to the market."
Lilith grinned, she was glad to be alone with Violet. She just didn't know why. Violet turned to look at the girl in her pale and wrinkled attire. The brunette hair in disarray made Violet yearn to dispose of the basically useless hair pins. She has the urge to run her hands through the chestnut locks of the girl in front of her.
Suddenly clearing her throat, she blurted, "I want to get you into bed." Shocking both herself and Lilith. Blush threatened Lilliths cheeks. She has never been told such things before from anyone.
"I- I um that came out wrong, my apologies," Violet manages to stammer out. She had never had a problem like this before, she'd had always been able to stay composed, but being alone in the presence of this girl seems to have an affect on her. "It's alright. If you want to show me to my room, feel free to," Lilith giggles.
Relived, Violet starts to move out of her froze position, but Lilith stops her. "But I am famished, would you be so kind to provide me with something to ease my hunger," she requested with a small smirk as if insinuating something.
"Are you insinuating something, darling," Violet played along. Liliths smirk turns into a smile, she moves a fallen hair out of her face as if it would make her see better. "Am I insinuating something,"she mused. She steps forward, taking step over step until she reaches the darkly dressed woman.
