A painting kit is a practice of applying paint, pigment, color, or another medium to a solid surface. The tool is usually used to the base with a brush, but other devices, such as knives, sponges, and airbrushes, can be used. In art, the term paint set describes both the act and the result of the action. The allowance for paintings includes such outsides as walls, paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer, pottery, leaf, copper, and concrete, and the painting may incorporate many other elements, including sand, earth, paper, plaster, gold leaf, and even entire objects. Painting kit is an important form in the visual arts, moving in elements such as drawing, composition, gesture, narration, and abstraction. Paintings can be naturalistic and representational, photographic, abstract, narrative, symbolistic, emotive, or political in characteristics. A part of the history of painting in both Eastern and Western art is governed by religious art.
