Chapter 1: It made sense.

"You got this, push" The doctor said.

"Ugh, I can't do it" Sarah cried.

"The baby is almost here Sarah, push." She said again. "Ok, I can see the head. Push. Yes!"

"Ugh, it hurts so bad. But, I did it." Sarah said as she began crying tears of joy. She felt relieved to know that she brought a baby into the world.

"Wow, Sarah. You just birthed a healthy, beautiful baby girl, you're so strong." The doctor told her. "We're gonna clean her up, and then we're going to bring her back for you to hold"

"Its fine" Sarah said, her voice breaking "I do not want to hold her I don't wanna get attached." She cried.

Sarah was only 15, and had gotten pregnant for a man that was 36 at the time. He had told her that he could not raise a child with a child, because people in his community were gonna judge him. And to be fair, they did not even know each other well. It was just good sex between the two.

Sarah was embarrass and furious. Both of her parents were Christians and she knew they would judge her for embarrassing the church and the rest of the family, by having sex before marriage. At her age she did not want to be any more of a disappointment to her family. She manage to hide her pregnancy until she was 5 months along.

One day she was complaining of abdominal pain and her father took her to the hospital to be check and see if everything were okay. Sarah had passed out, and the doctors had examined her. The doctors mentioned to Sarah's father that she and the baby were good.

Sarah father was clueless to what the doctor was talking about. He asked her to repeat her self.

The doctor said, "Sir, your daughter and the baby is fine. Sarah is 20 weeks along."

Sarah's dad were shocked so he called Sarah's mom and revealed the news to her. They were both shocked and disappointed. When they came to visit Sarah to the hospital they presented Sarah with some options.

They told her if she refuses to terminate her pregnancy, she would have to go to a boot camp. The doctors told her parents that it would be a lot of risks and complication terminating so late in her pregnancy. But Sarah knew that she did not want to go to a boot camp.

The thoughts of running away from her home crossed her mind a lot of times. She was even keen on doing so.

But she remembered her friends, befriended her after discovering she was hooking up with a man old enough to be her father.

The only viable options she had was adoption. It was an option her parents didn't even want to discuss. But it's the only thing that made sense to her.

She felt like her child deserved a chance in the world. She hoped and prayed, it didn't make the bad choices she made getting pregnant at 15 for a no good man that could not take his responsibility seriously. She hoped her child would turn out to be something, even if it meant that she could not be there to see it.
