12 - 50 Shades of Patience

"Saan tayo pupunta?" Tanong ni Patience kay Tina, habang hila-hila siya nito papunta sa ticket booth ng sinehan.

"Two tickets for cinema 3 please," wika ni Tina sa cashier at ibinigay ang limang daan.

"I receive 500 po ma'am. Fifty Shades of Grey po ba?" tanong nito.

Tina nodded at kinuha ang sukli at ticket na ibigay ng babae.

After work, naka-abang na si Tina sa parking lot at nag-aantay sa kanya. Hindi natuloy ang pag-uusap nila noong gabi dahil siya mismo ang umiwas. She gave excuses para lang hindi nila pag-usapan ang nakita niya sa kusina, luckily she agreed. Pero, today mukhang hindi na siya makakatakas.

"Manunuod tayo ng sine?" nagtatakang tanong ni Patience.

Tina rolled her eyes. "Obvious ba? Nasa sinehan tayo e."

"Bakit?" She asked.

"Gusto kong manuod ng Fifty Shades of Grey e, I heard the actor is really hot and maraming sex scenes!" Excited na sagot ni Tina.

Wala sa sariling pumayag si Patience. After purchasing popcorn and drinks, pumasok sila sa loob and watched the movie.

Wala ginawa si Tina kundi tumawa and tumili sa kilig habang nanunuod. While she can't even concentrate with the movie, all she could think about ay ang mga nangyari sa trabaho kanina.

She tried hard para iwasan ang dalawang binata. She would only talk to them when it's necessary and work-related. She even made up excuses para hindian ang invitation ni Luke for lunch and she end up eating by herself in the office.

"Oh my God, that's hot!" narinig niyang wika ni Tina at napatingin siya sa screen.

Her eyes grew bigger dahil sa nakita. Nawala ang naiisip niya at nakapagconcentrate sa movie. She felt a lot of emotions sa pinapanuod, doon niya narealize na maybe she is just frustrated and these men in her life is giving her mixed emotions as well. Ang pag-iiwas niya ay walang magandang naidudulot.

Natapos ang palabas at dumaan sila sa coffee shop and umorder ng iced coffee bago lumabas at nagpahangin.They sat on the stairs, kung saan nakaupo kadalasan ang teenagers just to chat, instead of an actual chair.

"So, what's the point on watching the movie?" Tanong ni Patience.

"To drool on Mr. Grey," sagot ni Tina. "And para marealized mo kung gaano mo kailangan ng lalaking katulad ni Luke at Blaze sa buhay mo." She added.

Patience rolled her eyes. "Really? Ganoon na ba ako kadesperate on men? Seriously! Una, Luke is just a friend and maybe may intention siya sa akin but I'd rather take it slowly and Pangalawa, Blaze is not even in the picture. He's my boss, no more, no less." She explained.

Tina smiled slyly before answering. "Bakit parang iba ang nadatnan ko sa kusina kagabi?"

Biglang uminit ang pakiramdam ni Patience sa sinabi ng kaibigan. "That-- that was nothing." She stammered.

"Nothing huh. It doens't look like it was nothing. By the way tinititigan ko siya kagabi, and I can really see the resemblance between him and Louis. Feeling ko nga si Louis ang kaharap ko e. Hot, business-like and serious version of Louis. Payatot kasi si Louis e. Diba?" Tina said.

"Louis is gone." Matipid na sagot ni Patience.

"I know. I'm just stating my observation. Ganito nalang isipin mo, Louis doesn't want you to be alone and be a single mom forever so he sent you a hot new version of himself. Diba? Mas acceptable 'yon?" Biro ni Tina to lessen the sadness in Patience's face.

Patience laughed softly. She opened her arms and hugged her. Tina smiled and hugged her back. "Thank you for that ridiculous explanation. But sabi ko nga Blaze is not in the picture, he is my boss that has a fiance. Luke is a better choice. He's sweet, fun and--"

Humiwalay si Tina sa pagkayakap. "Does he make you blush? Does he make your heart beat faster?" tanong nito.

Napa-isip ni Patience. When she's with Luke, she felt good, he makes her laugh and she enjoyed his company but It's different with Blaze, she's always nervous, she's careful and he makes her think irrationaly. "No, pero does it have to? I like Luke. He's--”

"Safe." Tina cut her off. "You wanted safe."

"Please. Papayag na akong subukan to have a relationship. Just don't push me on someone. Okay?" she asked.

Isang buntong-hininga ang pinakawalan ni Tina bago sumagot. "Fine. Just follow your heart. Okay?"

She nodded and smiled.

          KINABUKASAN maagang pumasok si Patience sa trabaho, hoping na makausap si Luke. Alam niyang napansin din nito na umiiwas siya. She didn't want to be rude.

Pagkababa niya sa parking lot, halos sabay lang sila bumababa ng kotse ni Luke.

"Hey Sunshine, ang aga mo a, it's…" he pause to look at his watch. "…7:10 in the morning. Diba 8 am pa pasok mo?"

"Yeah, I wanted to talk to you. Ayaw ko naman gamitin ang work hours ko just to chat." She said.

"Sige. Tara?"

Sabay silang dalawa naglakad patungo sa conference room. After settling down their things, they sat on the chair. Humarap si Luke sa kanya at nakangiti ito, his knee-melting smile. Who needs a coffee in the morning kung ngiti lang ni Luke pampagising na.

"I'm sorry," she started.

"For what?" Patay-malisya niyang tanong.

"Um, kasi, a, iniiwasan kita kahapon?" She said.

"I noticed. Hindi ko alam kung galit ka ba sa akin or kung may ginawa ba akong hindi maganda during the dinner. It's been driving me crazy," he admitted.

She placed her palm on his hand for apology. "No, it's not about you. I had a lot of things on my mind. Let me take you to dinner tonight, just the two of us, as an apology." she asked sweetly.

"I'd rather you take me to dinner because you want to, hindi dahil feeling mo may obligasyon ka," he sound disappointed.

"No! Of course I want to." She said.

"It's okay sunshine. Hindi rin naman ako pwede tonight. How about tomorrow? May party tomorrow night and I want you to be my date," he stated.

"Okay, I can live with that. What kind of party is it?" She asked.

"Formal. I'll pick you up at 8 tomorrow?"

"Sure." She answered.

Pagkatapos ng pag-uusap nila, sunod-sunod na dumating ang team niya. Bumalik silang dalawa sa trabaho.

Hanggang matapos ang araw, hindi nakita ni Patience si Blaze. She seemed disappointed. She's having a dilemma, kung kakausapin ba niya si Blaze o hindi, pagnakita niya ito. What is there to talk about? She wanted to focus on Luke and forget about Blaze just like she planned to.  Blaze is trouble, and all she could think about is Louis everytime she's with him. Which is unfair.

Tina was right. She wanted a safer choice and Luke is safe. Ayaw niya ng masaktan ulit. Her pain and sorrow with Louis is enough at para sa kanya Blaze is a mistake, another pain and another heartache.

Maaga ako mag-update today. Like I said, I wanted to finish this story ng mas maaga. Magiging busy na kasi ako very soon. Napansin kong mas marami ang Team Blaze a, so sorry if wala si Blaze dito sa update ko. Don't worry, next chapter. Andoon na siya. I promise!
