Missy woke up thirty minutes before her alarm went off. She laid in bed, hugging Damon's pillow that smelled so much like him. A smile broke out on her face and she squealed a giggle, shoving the pillow against her mouth. He'd called her babe and he'd been so sweet and caring this morning.

Last night. When Damon had gone to shower, she'd meant to stay up and wait for him but she'd fallen asleep. She'd been more tired than she'd thought. Damon whispering her name had woken her. Just one small whisper. Missy had barely had her eyes open and was fixing to answer him when the lights went out.

The bed dipped under his massive weight and then he was still and quiet. She'd started to doze back off when he moved. Moved to cuddle her. All of his muscle and mass slid up behind her more gentle than she would have expected from him.

Missy wondered why he liked to hold onto her wrist the way he did, not that it bothered her. On the contrary, she actually kind of loved it. It made her feel safe. His arm had been heavy over her side but it made her feel secure. She couldn't help the sigh of happiness that escaped her. Then he'd sniffed her hair, made a small groan and sniffed again.

She was hopeful that that was a good sign. That he liked the smell of her. They'd fallen asleep like that, with her wrapped in his arms, his muscles contracted around her like a steel cage. One that wasn't going to let anyone take her. His low, rumbling snores that basically became her lullaby and put her to sleep.

Waking up to him stroking her hair and face with light touches was one of the best things ever. His usually hard, demanding voice had been comforting and caring as he told her she could stay there today. Missy rolled onto her back and smiled up at his ceiling. She was going to do just that, stay there all day.

Jumping up out of bed, she rushed for her phone to call Leslie. Her boss answered on the fourth ring.

"Hudson's Steak House. This is Leslie. What can I get for you today?"

"Hey, Leslie! This is Missy." Her voice came out more excited than it should have.

"Hey, Missy. What's going on?"

"I was wondering if I could have today off? I'm having to move, unexpectedly. I found a place to stay, but I need to get my things here." She rushed out, hoping Leslie wouldn't pick up on the small lie. Yes, she was moving her things. No, it wasn't today. She had other plans for the day.

"Oh! My goodness. Of course you can have today off. I mean, you've never asked off, so I know it's important. You get what you need done and we'll be okay today." Leslie gushed.

"Oh. Thank you. I'll be back at work Sunday."

"Okay, we'll see you then. Good luck." They hung up and Missy was rushing to the bathroom for her clothes. She ended up only putting on her bra and jeans, not wanting to take off Damon's shirt just yet. Having been in his bed and wrapped in his arms all night, it smelled like him now. Missy pulled the hairband off of her wrist and threw her hair up into a knot on the back of her head.

Then she ordered an Uber on her phone. After slipping on her shoes, she tried to open the door but found it locked. She giggled to herself and unlocked it before leaving. The thought to lock it back passed through her head, but then she wouldn't be able to get back in.

She closed it tight and hurried down the stairs. It wasn't long before she found herself walking around Walmart, pushing one cart in front of her and pulling another behind her. Missy was throwing different cleaning supplies into one and food into the other. She'd also put two large Crockpots in one cart. Thinking about how busy she was going to be today, it only made sense to make dinner in a slow cooker. Or two.

It didn't even bother her that she was using her savings to buy all of this stuff. She'd be able to save it back in no time without having to pay rent. While she was there, she went ahead and bought herself some essentials, hair brush, toothbrush and the like. She also bought her a few clothes, just to hold her over without having to go back to the apartment.

She was too happy to let any argument she might have with the girls bring her down. Because Monica was not going to be happy that she was moving into The Football House.

The man that drove the Uber, helped her carry the bags just inside the door. She tipped him and he hurried away. Missy would have liked to say that the first thing she did was put away groceries, but not in that fridge. Instead, she cleaned it out as quickly as she could, then she put the food away.

Wiping her hands together, she looked around the space and smiled. Yep, by the time the guys got home tonight, this place would be spotless. Plugging in her phone, she hit her music playlist, cranked the volume and got to work.
