Jack prepared himself for the song he was about to hear. There was of course no way to know for sure that the song was about him, but, he was smart enough to put two and two together. Evelyn had called Daniel about a new song, the whole band had helped her with it, and she was performing a new song.

He snapped his head around from the boys as she started to sing,

I still remember the look on your face

lit through the darkness at 1:58

He remembered all the times he would round to the nearest hour or half-hour and Evelyn would always correct him with an exact time

the words that you whispered

for just us to know

Jack had always loved the way she blushed when he'd whisper something in her ear. He never told her that was why he did it.

you told me you loved me

so why did you go away

away

He still loved her, he loved her so much it hurt him sometimes.

I do recall now the smell of the rain

fresh on the pavement

I ran off the plane

the July ninth

the beat of your heart

jumps through your shirt

I can still feel your arms

Jack remembered when she called about her grandmother. He wanted to fly and see her, he wanted to be there for her. She had told him that a two-day trip wasn't worth it, and she would fly home on the ninth. He could remember how her body felt in the airport, sadness was radiating from her.

But now I'll go sit on the floor

wearing you clothes

All that I know is

I don't know how to be something you miss

I never thought we'd have our last kiss

Never Imagine we'd end like this

your name, forever the name on my lips

Jack felt tears in his eyes.

I do remember, the swing in your step

the life of the party, you're showing off again

He couldn't help but smile, he remembered the parties they'd go to together, one of them always getting in trouble. The pair loved to joke around and have fun. It was never dull with her.
