It'd been three days since I last spoke to Eren. I had no clue when 'later' was for his royal highness, but I didn't stress over it. If he wanted to deal with it—great. I had other things to do.
I sat on the bleachers in the large gym, surrounded by a roaring crowd of students—all of us here to watch the first game of the spring season's volleyball.
I wasn't much of a sports player—in middle school, Sasha and I had been not too bad at soccer, but that ended pretty quickly when we got to high school. Some of the players took it way too seriously here.
I always found it more enjoyable to watch—especially with the crowd of students hyping everyone up. It always made it a lot more fun.
I spotted Connie, Annie, Mikasa, Bertholdt, Jean and...Eren in their uniforms. Eren and Mikasa stayed in their own separate group while my friends had their own. They were all chatting animatedly while stretching.
Reiner decided volleyball just 'wasn't for him'—whatever that meant. Even tho Bert was playing, he seemed to be loyal to his one and only love of football.
Ymir and Historia weren't much for sports either, so the four of us sat and watched on the bleachers.
The crowd was still loud as ever, and Ymir grimaced from beside me. "Could they shut up for even five minutes? My brain feels like it's vibrating."
I could hardly hear her over the noise. Before I could respond, someone called my name from the aisle I was next to.
"(Y/N)?"
I looked up from where I was sitting and saw Armin, looking a little uncomfortable and almost scared to be in such a crowded space.
"Armin? I didn't know you were here."
Historia peaked around Ymir. "HEY ARMIN!" She shouted over the yelling. "I THOUGHT YOU HATED THESE KIND OF THINGS!?"
Armin smiled sheepishly. "I really do. But would you mind if I sat with you guys? I just... Mikasa and Eren are playing so..." He blushed slightly.
He was so sweet—I couldn't imagine a single soul hating him.
"Take a seat!" We all moved down the row and Armin plopped down beside me.
"Thanks," he smiled at me—the smile quickly fading as he cringed at all the noise.
I laughed. "If you hate it here so much, why did you decide to come?" I asked curiously.
Armin's blush deepened, and he glanced down at the players before looking back at me.
Before he could reply, Ymir gave me the answer I was looking for. "He's here for Annie," she said as she smirked, jerking her head towards Annie who was currently tying her hair up in a ponytail.
This was the first I was hearing of this. I looked at Armin astonishingly to confirm.
He panicked, throwing his arms around. "How did you—? I mean—I just—well," he spat, trying to come up with an excuse.
I laughed. "Hey, you don't gotta worry, we won't say anything." I paused, and he looked a little less worried. I leaned closer and added, "Also, I think you'd have a good chance with Annie—y'know, if you wanted." I grinned at him.
