You could feel your heartbeat in your throat when the windows iced over in a matter of seconds. But what was most horrifying was the look on Loki's face. A look of horror, maliciousness and the his quite obvious thoughts of homicide. His jaw clenched and his grip on your hand stiffened. You drew circles on his palms, trying to calm him down but nothing happened, he stayed tense and lost all humanity. "Loki? Is this what I think it is?" He squeezed your hand in response. You swore to yourself. You summoned your earpiece and connected it before putting it in your ear.

"Cap? You there?"
"Yeah."
"Tell me the situation."
"Frost giants all over New York. They're here for him."
Your heart sunk and you saw the tears glazing over his beautiful emerald eyes.
"Ok. Let me handle it?"
"You haven't got long."

"Loki? Listen to me, you need to help us. I'll be next to you the whole time. We probably can go to the edge of New York, there wont be many people and its likely thats where they are coming from."
"I'll be fine by myself. You are not to leave the tower." His voice was stern and hollow.
"No you can't do that I'm coming with you."
"I'm sorry." He closed a cuff on your wrist and teleported to the other side of New York.

"Shit." You ran to the roof and put the Quinjet on auto pilot to where ever Loki was. While it flew across New York, you got changed into your suit and put the warmers on. You scanned the ship before you found suitable daggers that would be better than nothing.
"Miss y/n, we're here."
"Thanks j. Keep the heaters on would you?"

You walked outside into the frozen over New York, spotting Loki's black and green immediately in the blues.
"Did you really think this would stop me?"
"You can't be here."
"Please, I took on Thanos and I'm still alive aren't I?"
"That's exactly the point. You haven't healed properly yet."
"I'm fine I promise."
"If you die, i'll kill you."
"Ok, thats fair."

You looked around and saw plenty of decapitated frost giants.
"You had fun while I was gone."
"Lots." He said, spilling another's skull. You took that as your sign to get started. One charged towards you and you stabbed it multiple times. It fell to its knees, face to face with you. This ones crimson eyes reminded you of Loki's so much, but you had to ignore that now. These things are trying to hurt people and Loki would never (without reason).

"Umm Lokes, you mind getting rid of this thing." You punched the crumpled giant in front of you, getting frost bite on your knuckled but gritting your teeth through the pain.
"Right, sorry."
And the cuff disappeared. The anger in your eyes clouded your thoughts as you ripped the giants apart, limb from limb.

You spotted a giant, but it wasn't a giant. Frost, yes. But not giant. It looked confused and scared. You made your way over to it.
"I'm y/n. I'm not going to hurt you. Are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine. I'm sorry."
"What?" Before you could register what was going on, she stabbed you in the stomach. You flinched slightly, used to being stabbed but this wasn't pain. It tickled. She pulled the dagger from your stomach.

You created a force field around you and the young frost.
"Tell me whats going on."
"They want Loki because they have no leader. They used to discard of frost giants who were small and defective until they realised that their king was one. So they brought us onto the battlefield. We didn't get as much training as the others. Sorry I stabbed you. I had to see if you were actually her. The one they spoke of."
"Make sure I'm who?"

"The one who was prophesied to be Loki's partner. It said that it took a lot of damage to tire you and I just wanted to see for myself."
"Its ok. Just don't do it again. How old are you?"
"I turn 854 today."
"I imagine thats young for a frost giant. Well happy birthday. I need you to come with me"
"Ok."

You held out your hand for her to grab and pull herself up. As soon as you stood up, your forcefield fell and a spear shot through your stomach and into the girl in front of you. You knelt down so she could be more comfortable and you put your shield back up.
"Hey, you're going to be alright."
"No its fine. I've had a good birthday. By far my best." And she slipped into a sweet sleep she would never wake from. You pulled the spear from both your stomachs. You knew yours would heal in a matter of hours which made the young frosts death more horrific.

You pressed the button on the side of your bracelet and a diamond shaped shield latched onto your wrist. You took down your force field once more to find Loki fighting off three giants at once. You let out a blood curdling scream, making all the giants crumble at Loki's feet. Then it was Loki's turn to fall to his knees.

You sprinted to him, seeing a gash in his stomach, at least a couple inches deep.
"What happened?"
"Me? What happened to you? You got impaled."
"You got stabbed and its not healing, i'll be fine."
"It was coated in something. Poison probably."
"How can you saw that so calmly? Are you going to alright? They are retreating now."
"I'll live, I think." He held his hand over your stomach and healed it to the best of his ability before you batted his hand away. He was so drained that his pale skin turned paler.
"If you die, i'll kill you."
"That's fair." He whispered, absolutely exhausted.

"Let's get you back to the ship." You teleported both you and him to the Quinjet. His eyes were slowly shutting.
"Loki you need to stay awake."
"I'm not dying just relaxing. It wont kill me." His eyes shut and his breathing became shallow.
"Shit." You bit back tears.
