Destroyer Bites The Dust

The destroyer marched towards the town, in all its 3d animated glory.

"Aqua... Your certain your barrier breaking spell will work, right?"

Aqua stared at the Destroyer with wide eyes, before smirking with a wild glint in her eye. "I'm certain it will!"

Kazuma raises his arm, like a commander giving the order to charge, and yells "AQUA! BREAK THE SHIELD!"

Aqua complies.

A few times appear in the air and begin to glow obnoxiously bright.

Aqua then pushed her hand forward like she's throwing a punch, and giant beams of light fire toward the Destroyer, as Aqua yells at the top of her lungs. "Sacred Break Spell!"

The five beams push against the destroyer, barely slowing it down, as Aqua pushes everything she has into the spell.

With a final yell, the five beams combine into one, and are finally able to break through the barrier, exposing the Destroyer.

As this all happens, you watch in amazement, before you start deliberately humming Lifelight just loud enough for Kazuma to hear.

Kazuma then signals Megumin and Wiz to charge their mighty Explosion spells as they stand in their high towers.

Soon, two massive red runes fill the air, before chanting could be faintly heard.

"Darkness blacker than blackest black. I beseech thee, combine with my deep crimson. The time of awakening cometh. Justice, fallen upon the infallible boundary. Appear now as an intangible distortion!"

The runes finish forming as Wiz and Megumin complete their chant.

"EXPLOSION!"

The runes explode into hellish fire, before two beams, one purple and the other a green, fire from the runes and twirl around each other. They continue their song of fire until they crash into the destroyer and bring it toppling down.

The destroyer skids along the ground a few miles before finally coming to a rest quite a distance away from the gates.

Utter silence held for a minute, before cheers erupted.

For the Destroyer, the mechanical monster that had wiped out towns and cities with minimal effort, was just taken down by the Adventurers of Axel, the Town of Beginners.

"Yes!"

Kazuma stuttered, "Wait."

Aqua clapped from beside you and Kazuma, "I can't wait for our Rewards!"

"Guys chill out for a second." Kazuma tried to call everyone.

"I'm going to propose when I get home."

"STOP SAYING SUCH CLICHÉ LINES!"

"Sufficient damage sustained. Initiating self-destruct."

The destroyer started to emit a red glow, from it's eyes as the air felt as if it was heating up, slowly.

Darkness had already ran inside, from where you could see.

You spoke calmly, shadows seemed to be attracted to you more than ever. "Guys, get on my back."

Your group needed to stop this, and you needed to hurry.

In the end, Wiz, Aqua, and Kazuma climbed on your back as you flung yourself at top speed at the Destroyer.

You were able to angle yourself to fly through the same door Darkness climbed through, and nearly crashed into the crusader.

"Sup Darkness." You nodded to the crusader who had climbed into the Destroyer.

"Y/n, Kazuma, Wiz, Aqua. Good to see a few people followed. This Explosion will annihilate everything, we need to find the source!"

"You just want to be by it when it blows up, don't you?" You deadpan at the masochist as she tries to explain the mission.

"No!"

Kazuma drags everybody's attention away from the masochist, and starts rushing everybody inside. "We do not have the time for this! Hurry up!"

And with that, the team scurried throughout the destroyer like a child in Deepnest, scrambling to find a way to stop the self-destruct mechanism. As you all ran around, you came across many rooms that held no major importance. Such as bathrooms, barracks, another bathroom, cockpit, cafeteri- cockpit?

You gave a quick look around and saw that everyone had ran back into the driver seat of the Destroyer and we're hurriedly looking for an off button while Aqua was reading a story.

"'... Oh, I was the idiot who built it.' So this guy died alone, huh?"

'Seems like that got all this under control, I'll go look elsewhere.'

You walked back down the pathway as Kazuma, Aqua, and Wiz were reading a diary. It would probably be interesting to read, however, you didn't have time.

As the camera panned down the long hallway, from your point of view, you came across a room with a lot of water in it.

"Ash, this must be coolant or something else."

Giving a quick look around, you brush the top of the water with your hand. "Not acidic."

Probably not the smartest idea, but you had Isma's Tear.

"Maybe if I swim through this, I could find the core..."

Giving it a long, careful and intellectual string of thought, you decided to yeet yourself into the coolant to get to the core.

As you floated through the coolant ducts, you couldn't help yourself when you called out "Wheee!" As you twisted and turned through the waterway.

After a long slide in the water park, you floated into a large room that contained a glowy crystal in it that had an opening in the vat right as it passed the crystal.

Kazuma and co. we're walking through the door as you floated in, making the stars you gave to each other very... Awkward.

When you crawled out of the duct, water dripping off your cloak, Kazuma didn't even look at you, scared of your power certainly.

Kazuma turned toward the crystal before coughing to get everyone's attention. "Now that we are all here, we can decide what to do with the crystal."

Wiz jumped into the air, hand raised like a school girl. "I can teleport the crystal far away from Axel! Though the location will be random."

Aqua continued on, with a plan. "I can create a barrier around the core!"

You jump in with your own plan. "I can try and absorb the energy and turn myself into a nuclear bomb!"

Your outburst caused every one turn turn towards you with an exasperated glare, before Kazuma speaks. "You are not killing yourself, Y/n."

"I can revive!" (Wiz, in background: what?)

"So!? Wiz, do your teleportation thing. I will take responsibility for the aftermath."

"I'll need some Mana to do it, Kazuma... May I... Suck it out?"

Kazuma gets a really... Perverted expression before he leans towards Wiz. "Yes. You can."

Wiz places her hands on the sides of Kazuma's face, and leans forward as if she were about to kiss Kazuma, before a bright purple light appears from her hands and Kazuma drops to the floor, exhausted.

Before Wiz does anything you feel as if you should complain because your a giant man-child. "Can I at least try to absorb the energy before we launch the crystal who knows where?"

A collective "NO!" rings out from your companions.

After a short while, a small magic circle appeared underneath the Core, and Wiz cried out "Teleport!"

And the core disappeared.

"I still think I should have absorbed some of the energy."

Kazuma turned slapped you in the back of the head.
