Strange Feelings - A DamiJon story

Chapter 49

June 29th Wayne Manor 13:45
They had just finished the funeral and had buried Alfred's body before returning to the ballroom of the Manor where they had set up snacks, tables and chairs so everyone who attended could stay and console each other afterwards. Damian was sitting beside Helena and his father while others were mingling talking about Alfreds life and legacy

"Father the ceremony today was amazing" Helena said

"Agreed" Damian said

"Well funnily enough Alfred planned it, he had left a list of instructions of how he wanted to go" Bruce said

"It did have Pennyworths touch, and there was no way you could have planned something like this" Damian said

"Your right, if I had planned this it wouldn't have been this good" Bruce said

"Yeah your right it wouldn't have been" Helena laughed

Bruce began to cry which was unusual but both his children went to either side of him and hugged and wouldn't let go of him until he finished crying

"Well you Teo don't have to stay go mingle I'll do the same" Bruce said

"Fine but we'll be back to check on you before we leave" Helena said

They spent the next five hours walking around talking with people who knew Alfred or had worked with Alfred prior to him becoming the Wayne Family Butler. The sad air still encompassed the Manor and everyone was feeling it, but after the five hours Damian, Jon and the kids said goodbye to their family and took off for home. When they arrived home Ellie went upstairs to face time with Zack, Tommy went on his Xbox, David went to the back room to play with his toys and Damian and Jon sat on the couch watching TV. Damian was lying down resting his head on Jon's lap while Jon stroked his hair

"Dami you know you can cry if you want to, no one here will judge you, you know that" Jon cooed

"I feel all cried out and I know I won't be judged, I don't feel like crying I just want to lay here with you" Damian said

"And I will sit here with you for as long as you want, but I will have to get up to make dinner but other then that I'm here" Jon said

"I'm here too" David said jumping on Damian

"I can see that" Damian said ruffling his hair

"Well then why don't I put on a movie" Jon said

"Yeah" David said

"I don't mind" Damian said

Halfway through the movie Jon got up to make dinner for the family while Damian stayed out with David half asleep on top of him. He did get up to help Jon gently placing David on the couch and heading to the kitchen

"You don't have to help" Jon said

"But I want to" Damian replied

"Fine then" Jon said

"What do you need done" Damian asked

"I need those onions chopped and diced" Jon said

Damian grabbed the onions a chopping board and a knife and he used his knife skills to chop and dice the onion with speed

"I will never get tired of watching you do that" Jon said

"Anything else you need" Damian asked

"A kiss" Jon said

"Your good" Damian said kissing him

"I know and I try my best" Jon said

They continued making dinner  before they placed the food on the table and Jon went to get David and Tommy while Damian ran to get Ellie
