"I can remember much of my life, my name however, I cannot remember. I feel that i must share my sad tale or else I am sure it will consume me..."
"I came from a well-to-do family, not as rich as the Drevis family, but still we were. My family was quite large, as I was the youngest out of the four children and I doubt that my parents could even remember how many children they had, so I hope they forgot I existed. I remember the day I was brought here, I was so excited and happy before this happened. I was awoken by my eldest sister informing me that we were going into town. I was so excited because I loved it when all six of us went into town together. I hurriedly picked my favourite dress out from all the others I had. It was white with long sleeves and it billowed out at my shoulder and waist, and I took a vibrant blue shirt to wear underneath. After I had fixed my favourite red ribbon with the large white button that served no purpose besides decoration. I knew I needed to look my best so I plaited my long blond hair while weaving a blue ribbon that matched my shirt. As we began to leave my mother smiled at me, her crystal blue eyes were sparkling. Her eyes were so like my own. As we arrived in town I noticed that there was a market of some kind set up along the streets, each stall had a salesperson who smiled with their mouths only. I am unsure of how long we were there for, but as we were leaving I saw a beautiful hair pin. It was shaped like a butterfly with purple glass inside the metal making the wings, I noticed small emeralds glistening on the glass, I knew right away that it was fake but I was still mesmerised by it's beauty. I'm not sure how long I was looking at the hair pin, but when I looked up my family was nowhere to be seen. I looked around where I was standing then I realised that they forgot about me. I could feel tears well in the corners of my eyes and I went to where other people could no longer see me before I let my suppressed emotions out. When I felt like I could not cry anymore I stood up and dusted off my dress. As I began to walk off I felt someone put a hand on my shoulder, which startled me and I jumped slightly. The man chuckled and apologised for frightening me and introduced himself as Alfred Drevis, and I told him my name and that I was lost. He led me to where he lived saying that he would contact the authorities about where I am. He told me that he has a daughter who was about six years younger than me who could entertain me. When we arrived at his house I was amazed, it was even bigger than my house I was slightly jealous. We went behind the house and went through a hidden door, saying his child was playing in the front room. He led me down a large maze of dark, bad smelling halls until he brought me to a room that he said to wait in. He left me in the room and I had a look around where I was, which I regret. There was absolutely nothing in the room, excluding a small light attached to the wall which was flickering and sending eerie shadows dancing across the walls . I sighed and sat on the crimson carpet and looked at the ceiling above me, I noticed a strange hole just above my head. I was confused about my newly found discovery, thinking about it's purpose until I heard the door open and a woman with a green apron and headband over her light brown plaited hair. She introduced herself as Maria and left the most hideous gruel that I had ever seen, and I was expected to eat it! She told me the doctor was going to need me soon, which confused me greatly. I ate it slowly and it seemed to offend every tastebud I had and when I was done the woman, Maria, returned and escorted me into a different set of stone hallways and finally into a different room and made me lie on a cold metal table. She put something cold and hard over my arms, legs and my forehead. I tried to struggle but the new bounds prevented me from moving. The lights brightened and I could see the cupboards full of flasks of different sizes with multiple different brightly coloured liquids. I could see, resting on a table nearby a large jar full of eyeballs. I suddenly realised what was going go happen to me and I started crying hysterically and I thrashed around as much as possible, which wasn't much. The man, Dr Drevis, who brought me to this place walked over to me while holding what looked like a rounder spoon and smiled at me. He held my left eye open with one hand and brought the spoon over to my eye. He slowly moved the spoon under my eye and it felt like my eye was on fire and with a sickening popping sound I felt my eye permanently leave it's socket and he put it in the jar with the others. I could feel my blood and tears fall down my face and onto the table. Suddenly I felt my other eye start to burn and pop! I couldn't see anymore and all I could feel was unimaginable pain as my brain went fuzzy until suddenly, nothing. When I woke up I couldn't see anything still but I could hear many voices of various ages all talking together. My eyes felt like they were on fire. A soft hand led me through the darkness and told me to stay there and wait for her to help you. I raised my hand to my face and it felt wet, worried I tasted what was on my face and I realised it was a mixture of blood and tears. I wiped it off my face and I gingerly touched where my eyes were once and all I could feel was empty holes. I began to cry again while I waited."

"That was my sad, miserable, terrible life. But at least you get used to the pain! That's a positive I guess"
