"Fuck Fuck Fuck! Erin! Stay with me! Get up!" Fiona cried, shaking and slapping the unconscious man in her lap. She continuously stabbed stimpacks into his sides. "Wake up!" She screamed. Jolting to the side she vomited up blood and whatever was left in her stomach. The suit was crushed and out of juice. No more fusion cores left. The last shot of radaway. Not enough rad-X for both of them. The glass of Erins hazmat suit was shattered and he was out cold. Maybe he was already dead. Fiona's eyes burned, blood dripped from her nose onto his cheeks. Cpr didn't work, she cracked his rib by accident. "Im so sorry, Erin. I'm sorry." She sobbed pressing her forehead to his. Her vision was blurry from tears, blood, and a pounding migraine. In a last ditch effort she threw her head back. "Help! Please anyone!" She screamed with her chest. Clicking of her geiger counter never let up. A crack of green lightning illuminated the yellow atmosphere. Who was she kidding. No one survives the glowing sea. She was getting microwaved, barely alive. In a haze she collapsed, not even feeling the shards of glass that stuck into her cheeks.

6 hours earlier

"Ugh! Curse the stupid apocalypse!" Fiona wined. She squinted, struggling to see her reflection in the busted mirror. "What are you bitching about?" Erin leaned against the door frame of the bathroom. "My bangs are getting too long, I'm trying to cut them. But I can't see in the mirror." The obscured mirror furthered her feeling of dysphoria, she hadn't seen her reflection in months. Erin stood behind her holding his hand out. She dropped the rusty scissors into his palm and turned to face him. He sliced straight across in one go, right above her eyebrows. "You did not just-" she gasped, whipping around to see that he did just. "Straight across!? No, now I look stupid!" She wined snatching the scissors back. "What did you expect?" He crossed his arms over his chest. "Whatever hurry up. Ill be outside." He left her too it.
After fussing with her hair for a while she gave up and went out to meet her partner. Fiona pulled her father's coat onto her shoulders, rolling up the sleeves to fit her arms. After giving up on repairing her old vault suit she ventured back to vault 111 to get a fresh one. She also took her mother's body back to Sanctuary for a proper burial. Her body was perfectly preserved thanks to cryogenics.
Erin slung the bag of supplies over his shoulder. It mainly contained stims, Rad-X, and Radaway. She figured 3 fusion cores would be enough, they're hard to come by as it is so they'll have to do. She found a Hazmat suit in the vault as well, that was folded up in the supply bag. Erin didn't want to put it on till they were closer to the sea.
Fiona was vibrating with excitement releasing the leaver of the power armor. She'd been working on it the day before with Sturgess. Or more Sturgess getting in her way. He had a tendency to mansplain, though she knew exactly what she was doing.
"Good luck, General. Keep her safe, Erin." Preston called to the two. Erin as usual gave him attitude. Fiona was a giddy mess in the power armor. It felt better than the first time since she fixed it up herself.
The two didn't encounter danger untill they ventured deeper into the south. There seemed to be more of everything they didn't want to mess with. After several hours they decided to stop at a small farm called Somerville Place. After saying they were with the minute men the man agreed to let them rest there.
"Awe I was getting used to being taller than you." Fiona sighed dropping out of the power armor. "Yeah yeah." Erin waved her off. Fiona shook out her matted helmet hair to retie her pony tail. "We're close. You should probably put the Hazmat on before we leave."
They sat on a bench outside the house. Two kids ran around chasing each other, the man was working in the crops. "How are you feeling?" Erin asked out of the blue. Fiona shrugged, lolling her head back. "Eh I'm kinda thirsty. What about you? Oh, I think your necks sunburnt." "How am I sunburnt, it's January?" He squinted feeling the back of his neck. "The sun still exists in January, Erin. Haha. Why don't you use sunscreen?" Fiona laughed. "What's that?" "You don't know what sunscreen is?" "Is that one of them prewar things that don't exist anymore?" "I guess so. Guess grammar don't exist anymore either." She teased, swinging her legs. "Yeah yeah, short stack, gimme a grammar lesson when your feet touch the ground." Erin returned, pushing his legs out further. "Oh that's a low blow. Out for blood now are we Graves? I'll have you know 5'5 is average height!" "5'5? Are you sure about that?" "Ok 5'4... Whatever that's still normal! You're just freakishly tall!" She's playfully slapped his arm.

After maybe 30 minutes the duo continued on their path to the Glowing Sea. Fiona had 1 and 3/4th fusion cores left. Though Erin was hesitant, they took copious amounts of rad-X as well. They knew they were at the edge when Fiona's pipboy started clicking off the charts.
"How are you holding up, Erin?" She asked. It was a bit nerve racking not being able to see him in her peripheral die to the helmet, the thick green fog didn't help either. "Doing great. Having so much fun." He stated sarcastically. He held his gun tightly to his chest.
Everything was going smoothly for the most part. But the anxiety was unbearable. The thought of anything jumping out at them, how horrible the creatures in the sea are, the acid baths ghouls beyond their humanity rolled aimlessly in. Even Erin was tense.
Suddenly something seemed off. It was far too quiet. "Erin something's wrong..." He turned to her questioningly. "Oh." He said barely above a whisper. "What is it?" Her voice cracked. "Chameleon Deathcaw. It's camouflaged. We better run or were toast." He spoke quickly, looking around frantically.
Before she could even think the beast emerged. At a dangerous speed the vibrant blue lizard trucked Erin. The Deathclaw dove a several feet taking him down into a body slam. It's claws kept him locked in as he fired aimlessly at the lizard. Fiona sprinted as fast as the armor would allow. But she was too late. The deathclaw swatted his head, the glass face shield was shattered. Erin stopped moving.
