Arjun leaves her and shehnaz is left alone, she so badly wants to take a leave but she knows sidharth, carla and the girl are in the way of her exit and she didn't want to give sidharth another reason for him to believe he effects her to this extent. So she gathers herself and walks back to them who are standing near the bar. "Ohh look who's back where's your boyfriend?" Sidharth taunts her once she is with them, grabbing Carla's attention. "Can you just shush Mr. Khadus. Ignore him, iski aadat he bakwas karna." she smiles towards Carla.
Sid-Would any of you ladies like a drink?
Girl-Sure, The same thing you are getting yourself that will give me buzz. *she winks, just the thought of him being so near a girl makes her stomach churn, his actions keep hurting her and that is a major reason she would never think of herself dating Sidharth, soon shehnaz feels hot breath from her back, it doesn't
even take a moment for her to realise its him, her eyes immediately move to Carla and the girl who are busy having a conversation of their own*
Sid-She's beautiful isn't it? *he asks her moving her hair to one side*
Sheh-Yes, Is sh..shhe your girlfriend?
Sid-No, I don't do girlfriends Ms. Gill. She is just someone I like to hang out with. *she nods in response* Are you jealous Ms Gill? *he whispers near her ear*
Sheh-No off..offcourse not.
Sid-You know shehnaz, your mouth might not say it, but your pulse and your goosebumps give you away, they show me exactly what you feel.
Sheh-Sidharth! Mujhe nahi pata tum mujhse kya sun na chahte ho but... *his fingers shush her in the middle of her statement*
Sid-Nothing for now I don't want you to say anything. *she turned her face to look at him, the connection they feel between each other is so different, its unexplainable* "Are you back with the drinks already?" *their moment is interrupted by the girls words*
Sid-No on second thought, maybe we should take a leave. *but his stare never leaves shehnaz's, that was the time she saw something in him, as if she was looking in the mirror just for a moment she thought he would not leave and stay with shehnaz but offcourse he left without a goodbye, without even introducing the girl, it was only when Carla wished the girl a goodbye she heard the girls name was Kiara. Shehnaz stayed at the party and left after a while, but the weird part was sidharth and Kiara were still there, waiting for their car, her face looked so recognizable as if she had seen this lady before not once but quite a number of times. Shehnaz hid herself behind to pillar just because she didn't want to face them again, their arms weren't linked anymore. It was when someone came to Kiara handing in a pen and a paper she realized that's how she knows Kiara, she's a model. Infact she had seen her on a lot of brochures for sidharth's and Arjuns company showing off their designs. No doubt she looked beautiful, exactly how she would expect sidharth's girlfriend to be she had a strapless gown with red lipstick on, a sophisticated, gorgeous model* "Do you need me to get you a cab miss?" her thoughts are interrupted by the security guard.
Sheh-Umm yes sure. *she peeked one last time but they had already taken a leave*
Until the time she reached her apartment, her thoughts kept going back to the party today. Just how angry being near Sidharth made her, she groaned loudly in her apartment while laying on her bed alone, having a glass of wine. "Mr. Shukla I just hat..." her hateful words are stopped with the buzz of her phone, its an unknown number. "Hello?" she asked out of curiosity.
"She's a model." sidharth said from the other side of the phone, his voice was so low and it flowed in her blood reaching her heart and every part of the body.
Sheh-Kaun bol raha he? *she asked on purpose*
Sid-Come on tum jaanti ho kaun bol raha he, You do recognize my voice very well so stop pretending Ms. Gill.
Sheh-What do you want sidharth? Why are you calling me in the middle of the night? Aren't you suppose to be with
your date what was her name again, ohh yeah Kiara?
Sid-Ohh my my tum abhi bhi itne hi sawal puchti hu, but I have pateince ek ek karke jawab dunga. So first, Why am I not with her? You know I am not the serious type of guy and she had to be somewhere. *she could hear the smirk in his voice*
Sheh-Off course mujhe pata he.
Sid-Wondering what actually happened? the answer to that is its none of your concern. But I know you aur mujhe pata he tum sochna band nahi karti until you knew who she is, so I called you to let you know.
Sheh-Maybe you called me so late to inform me that your date dumped you halfway. *he chuckled, and she could hear him puffing her mind took her back to the first time she saw him, she felt as if
she is near him, watching him placing his feet on his knee, puffing the cigar with one hand and holding a glass of whiskey or rum in the other.*
Sid-Are you still there? *he asked her when the call seemed dead* Thinking about the night we met, Aren't you butterfly?
Sheh-Wait! Did you just call me butterfly instead of Ms. Gill, What the hell? *she stood up from the bed, placing one hand on her waist*
Sid- Ohh fiesty, sit back down and you can move your hand away from your waist. *her eyes started wandering all over her room looking for him or maybe a camera but her mind denied the idea of a camera he would never do that*
Sheh-How do you know?
Sid-I know you very well, butterfly. Come on now stop pouting and accept the word its cute.
Sheh-No it's not , why did you call me sidharth?
Sid-I don't have an answer for that. Why did you come back here Shehnaz?
Sheh-Because, *She almost yelled* Mujhe laga tum USA mein ho.
Sid-And Then I had to be back here in canada.
Sheh-Why? *She could feel the hesitation before he answered, and could hear him gulp down a sip of the drink*
Sid-Har cheez bolne ki zarurat nahi hoti, you know it shehnaz. Good night.
She didn't get a chance to ask him what he actually meant, he hung up before that. She didn't know why or she knew but she has been denying it for long. Were they less of staff? Or Maybe to fix this issue with Arjun? Or maybe he was just tired of USA. Those are the stories she heard in the office, but this was something else. This phone call today made her accept
something she's been running away from and it confuses her more. The reason for his return is the same reason why he came to the engagement late, its the same reason why he actually got a date maybe, the same reason why he got Arjun to get into this enagegment with Carla in the first place and not himself and the same reason he called her late at night. It was "her." But she hade a decision that night, a decision to get this over with. She has to know what's actually going on, and that cannot be done in the office, already people there think she is here because of Arjun and once they notice shehnaz's friendship or whatever it is with Sidharth it would get her into more trouble. Her mind kept going back to the fact wondering, what was sidharth thinking?
