"Y/N L/N, this is your last chance. Do you plead guilty to the death of this man?" The judge asked, glaring down at you in disgust. You were cuffed to a tall, thin metal pole, forced to kneel by the two guards that stood beside you. Stones and dirt that had been left behind by citizens' feet over the years dug into the flesh of your knees, causing you to squirm around in discomfort. The guards stood rather close, the shadows of their bodies blocking out the warm sunlight that seeped through the windows.

Refusing to answer you stared down at the concrete floor, thin strands of your filthy, unwashed hair covering the majority of your face as you tilted your head downwards. There was a moment of silence, nothing but the faint call of the birds that perched on the windowsill outside could be heard. Everyone waited impatiently for your answer, trying to anticipate what you were going to reply with. However you didn't say a word, you only continued to look away from everyone who watched you, almost as if you were trying to fool your mind into thinking nobody was there. After a sufficient amount of time the judge grew restless, their grip tightening on their gavel as they prepare to scream at you once more.

"Answer me this instant!" The judge demanded, slamming their gavel down onto the small, hollow block. The booming sound of the wooden hammer coming in contact with the block echoed around the courtroom, leaving a irritating ring in your ears. "Guards, make this fiend look at me"

The guards nodded in obedience, before turning to face you. All of a sudden one of them grabbed a fistful of your hair, forcefully lifting your head up to face the crowd. Your eyebrows slanted into an angered frown, your nose scrunching up as your gritted your teeth. You pathetically whimpered as a sharp pain travelled across the top of your head. This abrupt action caused you to make instant eye contact with the judge, and you couldn't help but notice the malicious glint that sparkled in their eyes as they watched you be handled so brutally. They were enjoying this, they were enjoying watching you go through such agony. This made your blood boil to the point that your cheeks flushed a florescent pink, and you clenched your fists as your held back your sudden need to scream. A deep sigh escaped your breath and you glared at the judge, finally making the decision to speak what was on you mind.

"It doesn't matter whether or not I 'plead guilty' because all of you have already been fooled into believing I did this crime. So no matter how many times I claim that I didn't do it, the majority of you will always think I was the one to kill that man. So go ahead, throw me in jail, have your guards handle me like an animal, there is nothing you can do that will hurt me anymore. I have already lost everything I ever had a close connection to, my home, my family, my house. Even my lover..." You paused for a moment, your eyes travelling around the room as you eagerly looked for someone in particular among the crowd.

Your eyes finally found the man you were looking for, Levi Ackerman. You stared at him from afar, a loathsome frown plastered to your face. You took the chance to finally speak up about how you were feeling, since you had nothing left to lose. But before you did you wanted to make sure you were looking directly at the man who left you, directly at the man who broke your heart.

"He claimed to have left me because of how dangerous his work was, and he wouldn't want me to feel as if I was being left behind. He pulled the 'hero act' should I say, telling me he must put the safety of others instead the person he loved. Which by the way I thought was absolute shit. However I knew the truth since the moment he mentioned that he wanted to break things off"

Levi eyes widened ever so slightly. He noticed you glaring at him from the ground, nothing but the look of hatred in your eyes. Although he looked back at you completely unfazed by what you were confronting him about, deep down he felt rather strange. Of course he still loved you, there was nothing you have ever done to make him not love you. This made him feel guilty, just like he did when he watched you cry after he told you he wanted to break things off. He hated this feeling, he loathed it. He wanted to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

"He was scared, scared that I would leave him without he had a chance to even say goodbye once and for all. It wasn't because he didn't love me, I knew he did. He probably still does now. If he didn't he wouldn't have kept everything I gave to him, or everything I left at his home. I loved you and you left, without even giving ME a proper goodbye. Fuck you Levi, you pathetic coward"
