"OMGGG YOUR FINALLY HERE!!" Kazumi shouted, making youngest boy flinch then started giggling. While you deadpanned, "You both took longer than I thought."

"Well.."

"SUP~ (Y/N) long time no see~~" Now, there were a few things that had pissed off (Y/N) today but what really tickled her nerves wasn't the fact that her brothers came later than expected; but Obi, having the audacity to show up to the house with all that unwanted energy.

Silence. 'Guess they're waiting for a response huh?'

"Still doesn't explain why you were late," you said in a monotone voice. There was another long pause, you started tapping your arm which made Obi start to smirk.

"I'm rather hurt (N/N)," Obi sighs dramatically, "after all this TIME I thought you'd be happy to see you're dear old friend."

Now there were two options (Y/N) could pick. 1) backlash at Obi or 2) just fight him.

"Your rooms are upstairs. Start unpacking," you said. Both options were pleasing but would take up more time and energy. The boy nodded and took his few things and walked upstairs, after handing the toddler to (Y/N).

You hummed at the smaller brother, who was giggling and hugging you. You look up from the smaller child to see Obi's eyes staring right at you, with that damn smirk still on him.

"The hell are you still here for? You dropped the boys off, you've done your job," you say in a slight aggravated tone but still monotonous as ever.

"Ah, well, you see Hibiki won't be back in a few so..." he trails off. 'This just had to happen, huh?' You think to yourself.

"Sleep on the couch," you start walking towards the stairs to get Souta ready for bed, "don't make any ruckus and don't argue with me. We'll talk in the morning."   You don't see it but Obi nods.

As you leave, Kazumi turns to Obi with a smile. "You're pretty awful you know that?"

Obi laughs, "Nope, nobody's ever told me that".

"Well I'm glad to be the first then."

"You shouldn't be so harsh on him you know," the older boy, Daiki said. You just roll your eyes, knowing that he would eventually say that.

Daiki always worried on how (Y/N) treated others but for mostly Obi. He knew they've always been friends and that they're friendship has always been like that. But for some reason, Daiki feels like there's a deeper meaning behind all of the threats they make towards each other. And Daiki doesn't know how to feel about it.

You stay quiet while cradling Souta in your arms and relish in being able to hold your youngest brother again. "I missed this," you murmured ever so silently; you could feel Daiki's confusion, "all of us together again-I mean". Inside (Y/N)'s heart she could feel an emotion that was unusual, unfamiliar. Maybe it was apprehensiveness, we'd never know.

"Did anything happen while we were away?" Daiki hummed.

(Y/N) started to tell Daiki about everything that has happened in class-E so far but leaving out the little fight Kazumi and her had during lunch a few weeks ago, Daiki doesn't need to hear about that.

Later, (Y/N) left his room to get a sleeping Souta to bed although he woke up from the feeling of a very soft mattress. He whined for a while but feel back to sleep. (Y/N) came back into the older one's bedroom to find him laying on the bed looking at the ceiling in pjs.

"How'd you get this house (N/N)?" Daiki, stilling keeping his fixed gaze on the ceiling, asked. You walk over and sit down on the corner of his bed.

"Got a little help for Hibiki," was all you replied in honesty. Well, not all in honesty. Maybe whispered into a rich man's ear a deal he couldn't refuse and pull a little string and-voilà a nice but inconspicuous home. But can't tell Daiki that.

It's okay though. Because even if (Y/N) felt guilty for not telling the whole truth, Daiki still nodded seeming like he was fine with the answer, which was good enough for her.

"I miss home (N/N)," Daiki mumbled. You turn over to him, wide-eyed, waiting. "Why did we leave?"

(Y/N) felt like she had been stabbed through the heart. Which maybe would be better than being in this conversation. (Y/N) has a mental battle; whether to tell Daiki about all the dreadful things their parent did in the past or to let him have his naivety about their old home life.

Your lips trembled slightly but kept a monotone voice as you said, "that place just wasn't fit for us anymore."

He finally looked up at you with sleepiness covering his face and not really thinking about he said, "you've really changed since I last saw you. I kind of don't even recognize you, I miss the old you," he pauses for a moment, "but I still love you".

You move up from your spot to let him get situated into his bed. And before you head for the door you look back.

"I'll never be that me again Daiki, it's better to accept that fact," as you leave the room you hear his gentle hum.
