"Bell has been sitting there for 3 hours straight, he hasn't moved, he hasn't eaten, I'm worried for him" Nic leaned onto Conrad.

"Well what would you do if it was me in there?" He replied and Nic looked at him questioningly.
"Are they….?"
"I don't know, but you've seen the way he looks at her" he said and Nic nodded, each going back to their thoughts.

At that moment a doctor came to them and Randolph stood up first.
"How is she?" He asked quickly.
"The injuries she has are very serious, but she is a fighter, she'll make it through. She's in the ICU now, is her family here?"

"Her daughter and her son in law are on their way here" Bell explained and after the surgeon left, he collapsed on the floor next to the vending machine.

2 hours ago Molly walked out of Kit's room, sobbing into Derek's chest.
"She hasn't woken up yet, tho Dr.Jones said she should have. We're going to go to the cafeteria and get something to eat, Molly is a bit emotional. The doctor asked for our permission and just so you know, one person can go inside" Derek said and he led Molly down the hall to the cafeteria, her still clenching on his shirt.

The others all looked at each other and nodded. "You should go in" Nic told Randolph softly. He smiled very lightly at her and made his way to Kit's room. He stood in front of the door for a few seconds, then slowly pushed the handle down and opened the door.

None of the years spent in Medical school could prepare him for what he saw. Kit was hooked up to so many machines, he couldn't even count them, and as cliche as it sounds, she looked so small in that bed, so fragile and helpless. A tear started forming in his eye, but the surgeon quickly brushed it off.

Randolph took a few steps and sat on the chair next to her bed.
"Hey" he said. Yes, she probably couldn't hear him, but he wanted her to know that he was there for her. "You scared us today" he continued but soon felt his eyes water again.
"I miss your smile" he whispered and took her hand a few tears falling down his face "and your voice and your accent, even if it's to call me a bastard" he continued, tears, now falling uncontrollably.

A few seconds later he felt a light squeeze. His head immediately shot up and he stood up, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Kit? Can you hear me?" He asked, lightly caressing her cheek. No response.
"Maybe it was just a reflex" he thought and looked down at their joined hands.

"Hi" he heard a small English voice. Bell lifted his head and saw Kit smiling at him. He chuckled softly and hugged her carefully "Thanks God you're okay" he whispered. She just smiled wider and squeezed his hand.

"How are you? Does it hurt? Do you need something? Water? Are you hungry? Do you have enough pillows?" Randolph started rambling after he pulled away.

"Hey heyyyy hey, i am fine, i mean, as fine as i can be. Thanks for being here, that's more than enough" she smiled.

"I missed your smile" Bell said dreamily and immediately slapped himself mentally for letting that slip.

"So i heard" Kit blushed. In that moment Molly ran in and hugged Kit. "Do you need something, mom? Water? Pillows? Food?" She started.

Kit looked at Randolph, who chuckled and she laughed as well. However, she soon regretted the action as her ribs ached and she winced in pain.

"I will get the doctor" Molly and Randolph both said at the same time.
"Yeah, i will go, you stay here, i feel like i interrupted something" Molly walked backwards to the door, smirking at her mother, who gave her the "Don't" look.

"Are you really okay?" Bell asked once Molly was gone.
"I mean i don't know" Kit answered "I do remember everything, but it happened so fast i-. I really don't know" she sighed.

Randolph took her hand again and smiled at Kit like she was the reason the moon and the stars were shining "I will make sure that you make a full recovery."

And as Nic and Conrad were watching from outside of the room, they felt like they were watching themselves.
"Could this be the rise of Kitdolph?" Nic leaned into her husband.
"Well, maybe" Conrad smiled."She just need to pull it through, her condition is still critical"
