POV: Your cuddling with Ray and you ask something that scares both you and Ray.
(You) "Ray..?" You ask hesitantly.
(Ray) "Hmm?"
(You) "What if I get shipped out?"
(Ray) His eyes widened."I'd try to do a switch, I'd take your place."
(You) "Ray, no...no no no! NO!" Tears stream down your cheeks. "NEVER!"
(Ray) "I'm not letting you get eaten by demons!"
(You) "Ray, please... I want you to live... I can't let you die!" You sobbed, wiping your nose with a tissue Ray handed to you.
(Ray) "I get it... We've watched so many kids get shipped out, eaten up by demons. We both know what happens, and us being as close as we are... One of us getting shipped would break the other... But you deserve to live more than I do..." He gently wipes a tear from your eye, hugging you close to his chest.
(You) A faint red blush shadowed your cheeks and you hugged him tight. "Please don't say that... You deserve to live as much as I do. You can't say those things about yourself, because they're not true!" You give him a tiny smile.
(Ray) He pats your head lightly. "I can't make any promises, but I can try."
(You) You look back up at him and he smirks.
(Ray) He soon starts to sing Moms Lullaby and soon enough you both fell asleep.
