Mac pov
'H-how in the world wide dimensions is this possible? The girl in front of me is the duaghter of the author. Then that means...'
I looked up at Luna and grabbed a hold of her shoulders and looked her in the eyes and said.
"Luna did your mother ever teach you any sort of code?"
She looked at me in a mixture confusion and shock, she soon nodded her head and started talking."Y-yes she did. H-how did you know?" I grabbed the book that me and Lilly found at this base, off the ground and flipped though the pages till I found what I was looking for. I faced it to were Luna could read it and then placed it in her hands before saying.
"Half of this book is coded, none of us could figure it out. But maybe you can." Luna started flipping though the pages looking over the code, as she flipped though the pages I started talking again.
"Luna, with your help we could find out what your mother had left in here." Luna placed one of her fingers in the book before closing it, she then let out a sigh and spoke.
"Mac this is going to take some time to decipher, I'm a little rusty, I haven't had to use this code in a while. And Mac this may just be nothing more then just some note that she didn't want anyone to read. I just don't want to get your hopes up, ok?" I looked at her and saw concern in her eyes, for some reason I saw a little of my self and Lilly in her. I soon nodded my head and spoke.
"I understand Luna, but finding what she wrote in that book will help ease my curiosity over this." With that I started to walk out. I was soon stopped as I grabbed the boorknob by Luna saying.
"Hey Mac."
"Yes?"
"Please don't tell anyone... About my mother..." I turned my head and looked at her, her head was bowed and she grabbed her other arm with her empty hand. I could she was nervous about this, I started to walk over to her. I hesitated for a second before wrapping my arms around her. She tensed up in my arms, I then started speaking.
"It's ok Luna. This could be our secret atill your ready to tell, you have my word on that." She stayed silent but her body relaxed against me. I could sense she was stress about this, but I'm not sure about what part of this. The part about her mother's books or about bringing up her mother.
I just know it had something to do with her mother. I have no idea what compeled me to do it, but I did. I remember doing this to Lilly when we were younger and our parents were still alive. I started to rub my hand up and down her back to comfort her and then started speaking.
"Luna I know something happened to your mother, and you don't have to talk about it right now. But when you do I'll listen, or if not me find someone else here you feel you can trust to tell, ok?" I felt her head nodding against my chest, I then started thinking to my self. 'Why am I like this. I haven't had this type of feeling in a long time, not since my parents adopted Lil-...'
That's when it hit me, I heard her clear her throat and I let go. We stood there awkward before I turned to leave and said.
"All right, I'll be going then." I then walked out of the room, but before I walked away for the door I heard something that I couldn't help but softly smile at.
"Thank you Mac." 'Haven't been here a day, and yet you've already left impression on me.' I then headed down stairs and to the Infirmary to put away the rest of the books.
Luna pov
'I don't understand... h-how is this possible? M-my mother wrote this book and never told me? Why would she do that? Maybe... maybe I could get answers from this book.' With that I walked over to the desk in the room and sat down in the chair and started looking though the book again.
