One last place to check; the stables! It’s the last place in the whole academy to find zero. That is after the headmaster Cross’s office and his dorm. I dash towards the academy stables, the wind brushing past my (h/c) hair and caressing my (s/c) skin. The sound of my feet hitting the hard ground is the only sound to be heard until the stables are near where the neighing of the horses can be heard as well.
I step into the stables and look around for the silent boy who is still yet to be discovered. I reach the end of the stable where I see Zero laying asleep peacefully on a batch of hay, next to White Lily. As I step closer to them, White Lily wakes Zero up gently to which zero replies still half asleep.
“What is it Lily?”
All that’s heard is the neighing of White Lily and soon, the sound of my voice calling out to Zero.
“It’s me Zero; (y/n).”
As I answer Zero’s question, his eyes pop open and he is next seen sitting up straight, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to talk to you Zero.”
“About what?”
“Umm, well you see, it’s just that I mean, you know that-“oh what am I saying. Why have I gone crazy all of a sudden?
“Are you okay (y/n)?”
All right here goes nothing.
“Is anyone giving you chocolates this year? Have you ever received one?”
Zero looks at me with confusion highly evident on his face,” Why are you interested?”
“Just answer the question, will you?”
“Umm, no I haven’t. Yuki did once but it tasted terrible, but other than that, no.”
“Oh okay.” I retort. I wonder if he would accept one if I give him,   but before that I have to confess my feelings for him.
“Umm Zero?”
“Yeah?”
“There’s something I wanna tell you, but before I do, I want you to know I will always be by your side through ups and downs like I always have been, and I trust you no matter what and hope that it would stay like that forever!”
“Where are you getting with this-“
Sigh, here goes nothing
“I love you Zero Kiryuu!”
And with that I face the ground, flushed with embarrassment and blushing like a red tomato. Afraid of being rejected and to be made a fool of.
I saw Zero surprised and shocked at the same time and could have sworn I saw a slight blush but that must be my wild imaginations playing games with my head and messing with my feelings.
I wait for Zero to stand up and tell that it’s impossible or that I am stupid to think that but what I thought would happen never occurred. Instead he stood up and hugged me. Tightly I may as well add.
“I love you too, (y/n)!”
I could feel tears slowly beginning to well up in my eyes as the man I loved had accepted me deeper into his life. I hugged Zero back with as much force as he implanted on me. I thought I would be rejected, made a fool of, left devastated, but no I wasn’t, instead was accepted, loved and happy.
The hug was broken as we both parted and stared at each other with a wide and cheesy smile on my face but a soft and gentle one on his. The silence is broken with Zero asking me a question.
“So, what was this chocolate-giving thing for?”
“Oh that, I was wondering if you would accept it if I gave you one.”
A smile creeping up on his face again,” I would accept anything from you.”
At that, my joyful smile was replaced with a mischievous smirk,” Well in that case, you are such a wimp, Zero Kiryuu. It’s a guy’s job to confess to the woman he loves”
“You will never change will you?”
After giggling at his comment, we embrace each other once more, and exited the stables hand in hand.
Stepping out to the world together.
