****One day until the Volturi arrive in Forks***

Rose puts her hand out to me, to help me get up. However, I do not take her hand. I sigh in frustration, swing my legs up and then down, landing perfectly on two feet.

"What is the point in this?" I ask, my annoyance level rising every minute.

"We trained with Jasper before, we don't need to. But if it comes to a fight, you have to know how to defend yourself," dad snaps.

"I know how to defend myself!"

"Really?" dad runs at me and I pin him down to the floor easily and within a second of him deciding to attack me.

"Is that all you got?" I ask, laughing as I straighten back up. Before I know it Emmett is behind me and grabs my head, in position to break my neck.

"There's heaps of the Volturi and people willing to fight for them, watch your back," Jasper says.

I roll my eyes. "Fine, one more hour and that's it. I've had enough."

"Do you think the Volturi will care when you have had enough?! No, so stop whining," dad snaps at me for the hundredth time during today's 'training'. The past three days have been hell, always training for a battle that might not even happen. I don't even care about it any more. If they kill me they kill me, end of that. At least I won't have to deal with this pain in my chest since Jake stopped speaking to me and decided he wouldn't come and help with the Volturi.

Even though I said only an hour we keep going at this all day, time begins to go quicker as I learn more and start avoiding all of my family's attacks on me.

"You are getting really good Nes, maybe we have to be afraid of you," Emmett says to me with one eyebrow raised. I laugh.

"Maybe, maybe not," I reply.

Before Jasper can even lay one finger on me I spin around and stop behind him. He looks around and I tap him on the shoulder. He turns around and grins at me.

"Try sneaking up on me? Try being a bit more quiet, could hear your footsteps on the gravel," I say, pointing to the gravelled road. He shrugs his shoulders.

"I guess we are done for the day."

We all go back to the Cullen's home, the one where Carlisle and the others live. We have decided to all stay here tonight because we are much safer together. It wouldn't be easy to do a late night attack anyway, our guard won't be down as none of us need to sleep anyway. We will remain wide awake all night, focusing on our strategy which, of course, is to try and speak to the Volturi. But somehow I don't think that will work this time.

I remain in Carlisle's garage, fighting with Jasper, Rose and Emmett. All of us trying to get new strategies, learning from each other. It's all we can do to keep our minds off getting killed and tortured by the vicious Aro and the rest of his minions.

"What are you gu- oh, should've known," mum says from the entrance to the garage as Emmett, once again, ground slams me. I hit my head on the pavement which immobilises me for a minute.

"Could you try to be not so tough? She is my daughter."

"Bella, Renesmee asked for us to be tough. She knows the Volturi won't go easy. She needs to be ready," Jasper replies as I regain my strength and ability to move.

"Still, give her some slack."

"No, mum. Jasper is right. I knew you would go easy on me, that's why I asked them to fight with me. I need this." I plead.

"Okay, I just don't want anything to happen to you."

"And that is why you have to let me do this, to prepare for tomorrow. If not then I might as well pass myself over to Aro right now. If I don't train I won't be able to defend myself anyway."

She nods and leaves the room.

"Now, where were we?" I ask before I speed behind Emmett and throw him across the room.
