Subject: Time Travel

Summary: I have two different theories on how time travel works, I will also talk a little about how time travel is in movies, tv and books (and more).

Disclaimer: I did not come up with these two theories BUT i have added and changed some stuff in them after what I think. Remember that these are only THEORIES!!!

So I have two different theories (these are not so detailed explanations):

The first one is that when you go back in time to as an example save someone from dying (they are dead for you). Whatever you do they are still going to die as it has already happened. For your consciousness it has not happened yet (you going back in time) but for the universe it has. So whatever you are trying to change about the future won't work (sorry!).

My second theory is a more well known one: Parallel Universes. The theory basically claims that every little decision ever made, even the ones that might seem insignificant, creates a whole new timeline. So let's say that you have to choose between hanging out with your friends or staying at home reading fanfiction on wattpad (me hehehe), two new timelines will be created, one where you did go out with your friends and one where you stayed at home. And now new choices can be made to create more timelines. Choices can also have more than just two different choices. In all the theory is that there is an infinite amount of timelines. A good movie where this is mentioned is Sliding Doors (1998).

Other stuff on the subject:

In the movie Back to the Future (1985) we see Marty go back in time and later returning. When he returns a lot has changed compared to his original life (before he went back in time). That makes no sense.

So if were looking at theory 1, then the movie is complete trash (when it comes to being realistic) as Marty wouldn't been able to change the future by being in the past.

If we now take a look at the second theory it makes more sense, BUT still doesn't work. So let's say that Marty didn't reaturn to the same timeline that he came from but rather a parallel universe. There is still some problems here that doesn't make sense. Where is the Marty form that timeline? Are there two Marty's in the same universe? What happened to Marty's original timeline?

So there you go Scott, that is why Back to the Future is a bunch of bullshit.

There are of course a bunch of other theories on time travel but here is just a little on the subject. Thank you for reading! And remember to be you (aka that weirdo)!!!
