Before coming back and taking over the business Victor decided to pay a secret visit to their hotel in Chiang Mai without informing anyone not even his best friend/secretary Jan.
After reaching there he booked an ordinary room for one. As the hotel was currently full of customers and there were only a few rooms left on the 13th floor, he had to spend some time in the waiting lodge. He saw a lady struggling with her bag and helped her. She thanked him and placed her bag beside his seat asking him to watch over it for her so that she can ask the manager for a charging pin as her phone was drained.
Five minutes later she took a seat beside Victor and held her hand in front of him. "Peggy", she introduced herself. After exchanging their names they didn't talk much. But they began a normal conversation after five minutes. It was mostly Peggy speaking but Victor didn't mind her talkativeness, she also had a soft voice he concluded.
They received the keys to their respective rooms and took the elevator to the 13th floor. Their rooms were opposite each other. Room no. 1006 and 1009. They bid their goodbyes and went to their room. It was already pretty late so he slept after taking a hot shower.
The next day was mostly spent by him in his room on his laptop. The service was good and he didn't have anything to complain about yet. He was unaware of the time and by the time he was finished, it was already 8 pm, So he decided to roam around the city for a while.
He walked around for quite a while and then finally decide to make a stop at the bar he found on his way back to the hotel. He saw a familiar figure sitting on the high seat near the table, waiting for her drink to be served. "Hey, 1009", he called on her, getting closer. She turned around the mention of her name and saw Victor smiling at her. She waved her hand and motioned him to take a seat beside her.
(It was a simple bar but had Karaoke rooms in it too)
"Thank god, I found a partner. Or else I had to take the room alone", she said taking a sip. Victor showed a confused expression but then he remembered that he was in a karaoke bar. "I'm sorry, but I can't sing", he said. "Ohh, come on just one round, please. I'll get bored alone", she pleaded to him. After a few more requests he decided to join her in the room. He was awkward and out of sync at first but after a few songs, he let himself free like Peggy suggested him and they sang together loudly. Victor had a drink or two before entering the room and it started showing its effect.
