karaoke night

A/N: this concept came to me at like 4 in the morning and I thought it would be so funny to write! this is more just sort of a fun little blurb of what it would be like to hang with some of our favorite characters! enjoy :)

You and your boyfriend Anakin hurried into the restaurant, making your way to a hallway of private rooms that sat at the back of the building. Anakin opened one of the large doors to reveal almost all of your friends sitting on large plush couches in conversation.

"Sorry we're late guys! Someone was being too particular about their hair" you said, nudging your boyfriend in the side with your elbow, which he returned with a playful scowl. 

"It's quite alright, we're still waiting on one more person anyways" Obi-Wan responded, his arm around Duchess Satine, who had her head resting in the crook of his neck. 

Anakin sat down in a large chair next to one of the couches, and you followed him, sitting on his lap as you looked around the room at your group of friends. Rex and Padme sat near one another, engaged in a conversation you couldn't make out over Fives and Echo arguing over how to turn on the karaoke machine. Obi-Wan and Satine were off in their own world, looking through the book of songs that sat on the table. Your observations were interrupted by the door swinging open once again, followed by a familiar voice.

"You guys better not have started without me" said Ahsoka as she burst into the room, taking a seat on the couch near the chair you and Anakin were sitting on. 

"Y/N we have to do our song tonight" she said, and you nodded with a smile as Anakin rolled his eyes. You and Ahsoka were known for putting on the best karaoke performances in the group, and you would always practice songs to blow everyone away with. 

"I saw that eye roll, Skyguy. It's not my fault you suck at karaoke" she said to Anakin, trying to annoy him so he would try and prove her wrong. Anakin had a beautiful voice; he would always sing in the shower or when he was doing things around your apartment, but he was always apprehensive about getting up in front of everyone to sing. 

"You know what, Snips? Let me find a good song in this book and I'll show you who sucks at karaoke; fifty credits says I'm better than you" he challenged, a playful smirk forming on his face. Ahsoka nodded at his deal, and the three of you turned your attention to the front of the room, where Obi-Wan and Satine were kicking the night off with their song. 

SONG ALERT: Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (there's going to be lots of songs in this, you don't have to listen but I thought it would be fun to list what songs I think everyone would perform!

It was to nobody's surprise that Obi-Wan and Satine had chose a song like this, but it was always a treat to see the two of them sing together. Obi-Wan was surprisingly a very good singer, always hitting the high notes in songs that nobody else could. He began to spin Satine around as they sang, earning an 'awww' from Padme who watched intently from the other side of the room. Once they were finished, Padme stood from her seat, grabbing Rex by the arm as she walked to the front of the room, searching for a song in the database while Rex stood sheepishly beside her. She shot Rex a wink as she handed a microphone to him and started the song.

You recognized the song almost immediately and smiled to yourself as you looked around the room, where everyone else sat with surprised expressions plastered on their faces. Everyone had always suspected there was something going on between Padme and Rex, and you guessed this was their way of confirming everyone's suspicions. Padme had told you that she had started seeing Rex a few weeks ago, and judging by everyone else's reactions, they had no idea the two were together. Everyone's expressions quickly changed after the initial shock, and the boys began cheering loudly at Rex, hyping him up as he performed next to Padme.
