This is just a quick 1000 words one because I felt like writing, but a larger chapter will be up soon! I didn't read through this twice so there might be spelling mistakes, I'll look over it later. Thanks again for reading ily

Kurapika has been ignoring Leorio for about a week now.
Did he stop thinking about him? Oh god no.
It seemed like everything around him reminded him of Leorio. He tried some retail therapy from the sudden loss but everything in the store reminded him of Leorio. 'This sweater is nice, but it's blue... his favorite color. Maybe this yellow shirt? But that's like sunshine..." Leorio tried talking to him in the halls, but he either got ignored or a look of annoyance.
On Monday, he tried to wave to him but all he got was a distant glance.
On Tuesday, he tried asking him for help in English class, but he got ignored and asked the person in the seat next to him, Chrollo. 'Maybe if I knew he would ask Chrollo I would respond...'
On Wednesday, he didn't do anything. Instead, he asked Zepile and Pietro some ideas, but some were a bit outlandish.
"Go to his house and start blasting a song you both like!"
"He lives in a dorm, and I would be kicked out and probably suspended."
"What if you did one of those proposal things but instead of prom is just you asking to call you back?"
"What?"
"Umm... what if you just make him lunch? Who in their right mind wouldn't accept free food?"
That one seemed more reasonable. "Okay sure, I'll make him some food with a note or something."
To many people's surprise, he was actually pretty good at cooking, he just barely did it anymore. He packed Kurapika a shrimp bento box. Worst case scenario, he was allergic. "I feel like an elementary school mother preparing this shit," he said to himself under his breath. Aria walked in looking pretty confused, to say the least. "Leo?! Cooking?!" she said sarcastically. "Hey, I made you lunch and dinner plenty of times!" Leorio replied. "Hmph, yeah, when I was like 10." Before Leorio could continue the bickering, Aria started talking again. "Anyway, what are you even making this for? You either buy lunch from school or the food places near your school." Leorio did a deep sigh. He didn't want to explain what was going on again, but he did it anyway because he knew she would pester him. "I'm making it for Kurapika. We fought a party and he's been ignoring me, so I'm trying to make it up to him."
"Oh, that makes more sense than what I was thinking. Well, you guys better make up, they were my favorite significant other of yours."
"Significant other? We are just friends, Aria, don't be crazy."
"Friends who stumble with you to your room and feel up on each other? I'm a light sleeper Leorio, I'm not oblivious."
"Listen, I don't know what we are, I'm also trying to find an answer to that."
On Thursday he brought the lunch with him as he walked to Kurapika's dorm room. He knocked three times. Kurapika and his roommate were sleeping.
"Ngh- Who is it?" asked Kurapika as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
"It's Leorio!"
Chrollo perked up at that, whisper-shouting to Kurapika "wait!" as he took off his shirt and rand a brush through his hair a few times. "I'm not opening it, save your energy," Kurapika responded. "Well, I will then, you aren't the only one who lives here," Chrollo said as he strutted to the door.
"Oh, Leorio, I didn't expect you here today," Chrollo said as if he didn't just scramble to look as attractive as possible. Leorio rolled his eyes and pushed Chrollo aside on his chest. 'I am never washing my chest again' Chrollo thought.
"Kurapika, I know you hear me. Eat some of this lunch today okay? Just... please text me or something." He walked out shortly after putting the lunch on his bed.
"Are you gonna eat that-"
"Fuck off Chrollo."

Friday came slowly but surely. Leorio was about to explode. All he could think about was Kurapika. He couldn't even drink his sorrows away, because he knew it would just remind him of the drunken kiss they shared at the party. Their fucking kiss. All Leorio could do was sulk in silence.
Kurapika called Pairo to finally tell him about his first few weeks at Yorknew High.
"Finally! Hey Pika, what's up?!"
"Hello, Pairo."
"So tell me, are there any guys you've hooked up with yet?"
"Pairo!"
"Hey, you can't blame me, you always seem to have a stick up your ass so you might as well replace it with something better."
"If you must know, I met a boy but we aren't talking anymore."
"Really?!"
"Don't sound so surprised!"
"Tell me about him!!"
"His name is Leorio and he's from here. He plays football and he's very tall, over six feet. He's got these warm brown eyes and tan skin, with the best smile I've seen. He said he wants to become a doctor, which makes sense because he's a little too good with his hands. He has a huge family, larger than our old neighbor a few years back in the West part of Lukso."
"Jeez Kurapika, are you sure you guys aren't talking? You sound like you're gonna marry him."
"I just cut him off, he was too much of a distraction from my real goal."
"If your real goal was being a huge bitch then you sure reached it. He probably cares a lot, Pika."
"Well, I mean he calls me Sunshine and made me lunch but that can't mean anything."
"God, for someone who is trying to be valedictorian you sure are fucking stupid. I don't know much about this 'Leorio' guy, but it sounds like he loves you."
There it was, that L word Kurapika didn't like.
"No, no, no. He was probably just attracted to me and at most that was it. He definitely has had a crazy amount of girls."
"And how many of these hoes have been with him when you became closer?"
"... none."
"I think my point is pretty clear here Kurapika. You've done some stupid things before, but this? This tops it for sure. I can't believe it, he sounds hot too!"
"Oh, he is for sure.
"If you don't talk to him I'm walking all the way down to Yorknew and stealing him for myself. I know your goals are important, but a little bit of a so-called distraction wouldn't hurt you. Your life doesn't have to be centered around one thing."
Conversations like these made Kurapika miss Pairo even more. He needed him to remind Kurapika that he's still human.
"Okay... I got to go, I'll call you back."
"I'm serious, Kurapika!"
He hung up feeling relieved, but he was still unsure about everything. His goal was the only reason he came here, was it really as okay as Pairo made it seem? Kurapika spiraled yet again into more anxiety, unsure about his decisions.
