The first time I saw my mother, I was happy. A caring mother who was ready to cherish and love me. "Hello sunshine, welcome to the world," my mother said softly into my tiny newborn ears.

While in her arms, I lifted my head and looked up and around me. My new siblings were there, surrounding me, crying tears of joy. They were all so affectionate and kind to me that it was somewhat overwhelming. I got bombarded by hugs and showered with love. However, there was one rabbit who didn't quite seem like the rest of them. Her fur was a lustrous, thick pure black. She stood out from the rest. I reached out to her out of curiosity with my tiny newborn paws; however, all she did was stare at me. I noticed that she refused any affection from my other siblings and would barely interact with them at all. I watched as she deeply sigh and turned back around. I was so confused. Why was she so different from the rest of my siblings? It was like I was a sudden burden to her the minute I was born. However, before I could even start another thought, the strangest thing happened.

Suddenly, a blue latex hand reached out from above my head and picked me up, straight out of my mother's arms and my home. I kicked and squirmed, but they would just not let go. I cried out to my mother. "Help!" I screamed. Her eyes were looking up at me. Her legs and arms were still. She sat and watched as I got taken away from her and my family. Why? What is happening? What did this all mean? Did she not care if I was getting taken away? Was this...a good thing?

My head started to spin. My eyes were covered and pressed down by the blue latex hands. Despite not being able to see anything, the sudden movements made me feel sick to my stomach. The same thought rounded my mind: I wish I knew what was going on.

Suddenly, my feet touched something cold. The blue latex hands had placed me down onto a cold metal table. My eyes hurt as they adjusted to the bright light that shone over me. Before I could fully see again, I flinched as I felt a tiny prick on my neck. I screamed as the Blue latex hand reached out from the light, pushing me into the table so I couldn't go anywhere. I squirmed and bit but nothing seemed to work. Suddenly, I started feeling woozy and my eyes were blurring out. I began uncontrollably falling into a deep and empty abyss. As I looked out into the distance, I saw my mother and my siblings watching me. their beady eyes, looking unaware of the pain I have felt. They were watching me, behind bars.

What did this all mean? What was going on? Why was this happening? Does my mom know something I don't? "Mom," I whimpered softly. I was desperate. Desperate for help. Desperate to survive. Desperate for an answer. Everything went dark, and my thoughts began to circle around me.
