I was sitting in the kitchen with my little sister Olivia. She is 6 years old and I am 11 years old. My name is Erica, I have dark brown hair and big brown eyes. I live on the coast of Australia where there are huge beaches. I live right next to the sea and I go there every day.  My Mum says that beaches are dangerous, but I don't think they are.  She says if you go too far out you will drown, but I have never heard of people who go too far out at sea and drown, so I don't believe it.

I am a fan of reading, especially murder mystery books.  I know you are probably wandering how I speak English so well because I was born as an aborigine. My parents don't know but I learnt it whilst I was on the beach by my house.  I find the sea very relaxing, I could just stare at it all day.  My favourite part about being on the beach is watching the waves go up and down and up and down.  Most people just find that silly though. My Mum and Dad say I'm not even allowed to go on the beach next to our house when they aren't with us, so I creep out when everybody is asleep.  I also love drawing, I have tons of pictures I have drawn of the beach. I find drawing very peaceful, calming and relaxing.  My mum said that she would take me and my sister out to the beach after lunch as a treat. She also said we can bring tea outside, but not next to the sea. The last thing she said was that we were not allowed ANYWHERE near the sea, at any time, which was disappointing, but at least we are going. I haven't been to the beach with my parents for ages, so I think it will be exiting.

My best friend is called Henry, well I call him that, he is actually named something Aboriginal. I also call my sister Olivia because the Aboriginal word is much harder to say. But for some reason my name isn't Aboriginal, my name is just Erica, I have no idea why.  In fact I'm glad I'm called Erica, I don't like the Aboriginal names, they are so hard to say. "Lunch is ready" said mum. Well that's my lunch ready. I'm having a lamington, it's a sort of cake. Well after I finish this I get to go to the beach, I'm really looking forward. I said to my mum that I had finished, so she said to get my stuff ready. She actually said it in Aborigine. I got my stuff ready and went to the beach with my parents and Olivia. We had a great day. We ate our tea and then me and my sister played hide and seek. I hid behind a big rock by the sea.  All of a sudden the tide came in and I got stuck.  Then it started to rain, I was getting really scarred, I was calling out for my Mum and Dad, but they couldn't here me over the thunder.  All of a sudden Olivia swam around the corner, but then she swam away again.  Five minutes later Dad came swimming around the corner with two life jackets, one for him and one for me.  We swam together back to the shore.  When we got back the first thing my Mum said to me was, you shouldn't have gone near the water!  Then she gave me a massive hug and went home. That day I was terrified.

Well that's my story on the beach, I'm off to do some drawing.

P.S - Playing on the beach is dangerous so BE CAREFUL !!!!!
