She sat there soaking the sunlight from her bedroom window, fingers lingering on the corner of the pages. Her breath was the only thing that could be heard if you weren't wearing her earphones. If you weren't inside her mind you would have guessed she was just a peaceful girl reading a fantasy book, on her bed on a summer afternoon.

No, inside her mind she was a fearless assassin running from her regal bloodline, plotting an assassination in the next ball, against the crowned prince of an enemy Kingdom.

No, inside her mind she was a swash-buckling pirate with ruthless and violent desires.

No, inside her mind she was a child of a God, fighting monstrous beasts and unwilling to give in to the Fates.

Her dyed purple hair dangled in her field of vision as 'Faded'' By Alan Walker played. She was elated. But she wanted more. She craved more.

She imagined the glistening waves in a yellow sunset. She imagined herself in the blue abyss of the ocean. In her dreams, she was the Queen of the seven seas.

Oh how she longed for something other than this life.

The myths of Atlantis look ever so  appealing.

She took a break from the book that seemed to be sucking her in. She felt her heart light afire as she watched the sunset. It was almost as beautiful as she imagined, at the bottom of the sea, in Atlantis. She took her earphones out her ears and breathed out, feeling euphoric because of the colours blending to create this almost artistic effect.

Everything ran wild inside of her. Her brown eyes melted into the sky, into her deepest desires and in her heavy heart.

''Hey, we're going to the beach Lee!''
