It happened in a blur. I had been walking with Mom down the busy streets of New York, my little 7 year old legs struggling to keep up with her quick strides. She has mentioned something about meeting my father. My little heart skipped and pounded with joy, I had never met my father before. Suddenly people around shrieked in terror, I looked up to see a hole in the sky. I couldn't understand what it was. Mom rushed me inside the nearest building and Hid. A man with a blue red and white suit with a shield of the same colors showed up, ushering everyone out of the building, a loud crack rang through everyone's ears causing more civilians to try to rush out the door, My mom was trying to push me through the crowd, I couldn't understand what was happening, It looked like it had been snowing from the roof. I cried because I was scared. It felt like time slowed, the building seemed to give away, collapsing on top of mom and I. I watched as a chunk of concrete fell on my mother, how she cried out in pain, screamed out for the man in the blue suit to get Tony Stark. I tried escaping but a piece of concrete with a support beam fell onto my leg, the metal support getting stuck in my little leg, I screamed and cried, as more concrete fell around me. Dots forming in my vision, the pain too much for my little 7 year old body. Before my vision completely blacked I saw a red metal arm reach into the rubble.

??? POV

"Tony!" I heard my name being called over the intercoms, I was in the middle of battle with a chitauri soldier.

"Either someone better be dead or we won, what do you want Cap." I said with a bit of snark in my voice, blasting the chitauri soldier in the chest, it falling backwards, soon falling limp.

"Tony, some woman is calling for you to come here, I can't seem to locate her, She's screaming incohesively. Something about a daughter, I don't know Tony, just get over here." I could hear a woman screaming about something in the intercoms, sighing I took off and over to the collapsed building. Why was I doing this? I didn't care about some woman screaming about a daughter, but yet here I was, flying to the rubble. A small girl stuck out of the rubble, a support beam stuck in her leg, She was screaming and hyperventilating, I reached in the rubble and pulled her out, i tried my best to support her leg that had the beam still stuck in her leg, walking over to the woman still screaming, my faceplate opening up to expose my face at the woman.

"Tony- she's- yours" was the only thing I could make out of the woman's words. I looked down at the little black haired girl hanging unconscious in my arms, she did have a remarkable resemblance to me, I looked up at the woman, her screaming was stopping, she was getting paler.

"Tony- take..care of her, for me" Her breathing stopped as a cloudy glossy look glazed over her eyes, her body falling limp. I looked back at the little ball of a girl in my hands, her blood all over my Mark L suit. My face showed so many emotions at once, but the emotion most expressed was concern. I looked over at Cap, his face showed confusion but also sorrow, I went to open my mouth but Cap spoke before I could.

"Go, go get her patched up. We will be fine without you for a bit." I nodded as my faceplate smoothly gilded back into place, I took off and headed towards home.

_____________ Tony POV

It had been a few hours since I had rescued my "daughter". I had gotten her as stable as possible before a few doctors could keep her stable while I fought, Bruce soon came in and took over. It was picking at my brain, I told myself I wasn't going to test her DNA to see if it matched mine, I didn't want to get attached to the little girl. I looked into the window where she rested and took a deep inhale and exhaled. Bruce stepped up beside me, looking into the window then at me. "You should get her DNA tested. She looks exactly like you Tony." Bruce spoke up. His eyes stern but also compassionate, I broke my gaze from the little girl to look at Bruce.

"It's probably just some woman who wanted to mess with my mind and get child support. There is no way this kid is mine." I spat back at him, I was scared. What if this kid was mine? I didn't know how to raise a kid, let alone be an Avenger with a kid.

"Tony cmon, the kid is the spitting image of you, She has to be yours. Take the DNA test and if it comes back a match we will think then, but if it comes back Negative, oh well. We just sent her to an adoption agency, Help her find a home." Bruce saw the terror in my eyes, I wasn't thinking correctly, I reluctantly agreed. Bruce took out a small needle and a small vial, poking my finger and extracting some blood. He walked into the little girl's room and did the same to her, I felt like I had to protect this little girl at all costs. What was this feeling? I only had this feeling around Pepper. Bruce swiftly exited the room, off to test the two vials of blood, Soon enough I heard movement in the room the little girl was in. I stood up and looked in the window, seeing her sitting up looking around, Tears falling down her dirt and concrete powdered face. I sighed and opened up the door, giving the girl a warm smile. I went and sat down in the chair beside her bed.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's this crying about?" I grabbed her hand and gently rubbed it, She sniffled looking at me. She gave out a small whimper and looked down at her leg.

"Where is my mom..?" She said in a whisper, she looked back up at me, not having the heart to tell the kid I made up an excuse, it wasn't exactly the truth, but it also wasn't a lie.

"She's in a better place, kid. She's watching over you right now" I gently stroked her hair as she reached for me, her small hands grasping onto my shirt as she cried, it broke my heart to hear her cry.

Bruce popped his head into the doorway of the room, His eyes gave a concerning look. He looked down at the small girl who was holding onto my shirt, crying. I looked over at Bruce and prepared myself for the worst
