Warnings: a fight with other residents, swearing

-------------------

Dust particles weaved in and out of the sun rays that shone through the cracks in the barricade, almost as if in some delicate dance number. I held up my fingers to the rays, feeling the warmth spread over my skin. It was important to find enjoyment in small things in times such as these. I felt a presence behind me, one of comfort and safety. "They look like disco lights, don't they?" I spoke, moving my fingers slightly to watch the sunshine shift around. "Here, put your hand in the rays" I gently raised Sang-Wook's hand to the light streams. "It's warm" He mumbled, turning his hand to face mine, intertwining his fingers with mine "But I prefer this" Sang-Wook added, the corner of his mouth slightly rising into a ghost of a smile.

"Sorry to interrupt but Eun-Hyeok has called for you Sang-Wook" Jae-Heon bowed, waiting for Sang-Wook to walk with him. Sang-Wook turned to me, as if silently apologising for his sudden exit "you better get going then" I said, quirking my head to the side with a small smile. Sang-Wook faintly nodded his head, resting his forehead against mine, wanting to be together for just a little longer. "Go on Sang-Wook" I playfully pushed him towards Jae-Heon, knowing that he wouldn't leave without encouragement. The door shut behind the two men as they left the room, leaving me with my thoughts once more.

The dining room went dead silent as Hyun-Su entered with his plate. Eun-Hyeok and Sang-Wook were still talking in the surveillance room so I made sure to save some food for them. Hyun-Su slowly walked towards the serving table, muttering a quiet "Thank you" as he turned to leave. "Hey, Hyun-Su, why don't you eat with us tonight?" A few heads turned to stare at me in disbelief as soon as the words left my mouth. "It must be lonely in that holding cell. There's a spare seat next to me" I offered patting the empty space besides me, trying to be as welcoming as possible. Hyun-Su considered it for a moment, then soundlessly walked towards the spare seat. "He can't eat with us!" Seok-Hyeon cried, swiftly standing in objection

"Nobody asked you" Eun-Yu murmured in response

"How dare you speak back to your elder" Seok-Hyeon fired back, face red with anger as he glared at Eun-Yu

"I think that we should all calm down-" I tried to deescalate the situation but got cut off by a furious Seok-Hyeon, appalled at the fact someone was defying his authority.

"I don't care what you think! I think that I shouldn't have to eat with a monster! We should throw him out, with you and that crazy bitch too" Seok-Hyeon exclaimed, shaking profusely with fury, walking from his eating place over to me. He pulled out his box knife, pointing it at Hyun-Su, Eun-Yu, and I, spitting that he demands we leave or he'll have to take extreme measures. A hand reached out to Seok-Hyeon's shoulder, turning him to face the man behind him.

The box knife clattered to the tile floor as Seok-Hyeon fell to the ground soon after, a future bruise destined to show on his jaw. Sang-Wook stepped over Seok-Hyeon's unconscious body, worry displayed in his eyes. "Sang-Wook, I'm okay, you didn't have to sock him in the jaw" My words fell upon deaf ears as Sang-Wook continued to frantically search my body for any sign of injury. "Sang-Wook, hey, hey" I cupped his face with my hands, bringing his gaze to my face, along with his attention. "I'm okay" Those were the only words Sang-Wook needed to hear, relief washing over him. "Bastard" Is all he murmured as he pulled me into a hug, resting his chin atop my head. I was okay and that's all Sang-Wook cared about.
