I looked at her and smiled. She walked into Archie and Jughead's room and spoke. I couldn't hear what she was saying. "Hey Betty come down here", my mom said. I made my way down there and he was sitting on Archie's bed while Archie was playing video games. "He said he'll go". He looked at me and I looked at him. "Hey mom can I talk to you for a second?". "Yeah sure come on". I walked into my room and she followed. "What did you say?". "All I told him was that you and him were basically in the same grade". "And?". "And you don't have a homecoming date". "Well what did he say after that". "He said ok then I said can he be you're date". "What did he say?". "He said yeah". I smiled. "Ok great". We were only going as friends. I mean what can go wrong.
Days after
"Okay let's go guys". My mom says yelling for me and Jughead to come into the car. We were shopping for homecoming outfits. "I'm here" Jughead said. "Hey count me too. I am also here". I said shoving him. (Let's skip the car ride there. It was boring anyways. Also I am a LAZY peice of shit)
We were in the store picking out a dress for me. I saw a black one, Nah. White one, too bridal. A red one, too Cheryl. Pink one, too girly. Orange one, too springy. Then I saw a blue one. "Perfect". I said under my breath. "Oh now that's beautiful". My mom said hugging me from behind. "You're first dress". I never really wore dresses. I mean they aren't my type so yeah. My mom and Jughead went to go look for something he can wear. I was just lolly gaging around the store waiting on them to arrive to me.
After a few minutes
I saw my mom come to get me. I saw Jughead behind her smiling. "Why the sudden smile?". I said to him smiling as well. "Since you have blue I got blue too". I was in a awe moment. I just couldn't say anything but "Awe that's so sweet". He's so adorable. We paid and made our way home.
When I opened the door Veronica was standing there waiting for me.
V: Come here now.
B: Oh alright. Let me just get a towel first.
V:Alright but hurry
I grabbed a towel and went into my room where she was.
V: Okay now spill
B:Spill?
V: What is you're thoughts on Jughead?
B: Well..I think he cute and he's good looking. After I said that everyone came into my room. Well just the girls so.
T: You think he's cute omg
B:Toni I-
C: Betty omg that's so cute
T: Let me go tell him
B: Don't tell him I swear if you-
T: Jughead I have to tell you something.
My heart started beating. I avoided everything and went to take a shower. I was looking for some clothes until I heard my door open.
V: He is blushing
T: He likes you
C: You should go talk to him
B: Guys, I'm going to take a shower.
V: I'm sorry
B: Lol stop saying sorry it's not you're fault. As you know Veronica always apologize for something she doesn't even do.
After my shower I laid down onto my bed. I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a message from Snapchat.
*Jughead Doesn'tmatter added you*
I opened it. I didn't accept him at first. I went into Veronica and Toni's room.
B: Did one of you give him my snap?
V: I did
B: Why?
V: Betty come on you like him and he likes you. Y'all are adorable and shy.
B: Okay I am not shy
C: Yes you are
B: No
V: Look, when you came out the shower where did you go?
B: I stayed in my room why?
V: Yeah you are shy
B: How
C: Because you always go out of you're room. Honestly this is the first you stayed in you're room.
B: Not helping
V: You are shy and so is he. He didn't come out of his room either.
B: Really?
V: Yes!
B: So I can come out?
V: See. Shy
B: Whatever
I made my way to the laundry room to drop off my towel. I saw him walk by me. We didn't speak just smile to ourselves.
*dinner time*
(Mom) M: Come on y'all dinners ready. I was seriously scared. How am I supposed to face him. Have a conversation. I made my way to the table so did everyone else. A: Thanks the food is great. Archie said chewing every last crum. Me and Jughead didn't make as much eye contact. Dinner was over and we all did our chores. I went into my room and laid down. Changing my LED lights to a perfect mood. (Purple). I was about to fall asleep until I heard my mom call for us.
B: Hey mom what's up?
M: Get ready y'all are going to park. The people who wants to go can stay with you're father the other half is with me. Who is coming? Let me know now!
C: I'm not coming
T: Me either
M: Alright that's two
B: I'm coming
V: I'm coming
A: I'll go also
M: That's three. And Jughead what about you?
J: Sure I'll go
M: Alright Cheryl and Toni you guys can stay with you're father the rest of you get dressed.
I made my way to my room, me and Veronica had a little conversation going while we were walking to our rooms.
V: He is totally going because of you.
B: Maybe he just wanted fresh air.
V: You're fresh air
B: Oh god.
I got dressed in a hoodie and also some sweatpants. Veronica already had Jean's on so she just needed to put on shoes. I put on my crocs and left. We all rode our bikes to the nearest park. It was a skate park with a playground on the side. It was cool.
M: I'll be right here on the swing
A: Ok
Archie, Veronica and Jughead went into a pirate ship playing area. I was swinging with my mom until Veronica called me over. I was still scared. She called me over again and I went.
V: Come sit with us.
Veronica was wrapped around Archie's arms laying on him
B: Ehh okay
Everything was quite until Veronica broke the silence.
V: How about you and Jughead go over there and get to know each other?
B: O- Alright.
Jughead moved into a different spot and I joined him. We were talking for a minute until I broke the silence.
B: Hi
J: Hey
B: How are you?
J: I'm good! What about you?
B: I'm also good!
We were in silence again. I hate awkward silence but I had no choice but to do nothing. I didn't know what to say.
J: Do you like the weather?
B: Y-yeah I guess so.
J: How so?
B: I'm from a different state
J: How is it there?
B: Snowy.
J: Where are you from?
B: Connecticut. But I moved here a year ago.
J: Cool.
B: Where are you from?
J: Here.
B: Do you like it?
J: It's alright.
B: Did you go to Riverdale Middle?
J: Yes. I'm a freshman now.
B: Me too.
We laughed and shared giggles that night. When night came I went to bed and slept proud.
