It was snowing. Unusual in April, but everyone enjoyed it. except for one person... that person was Bokuto Kotarou. He had been quarantined/hospitalised for some time, and he couldn't go outside. Everyday Akaashi would visit him, buying something for Bokuto every time he came. Bokuto sighed as he watched the delicate pieces of snow fall. He went outside, despite the rules.

He took a step outside, feeling the snow. the soft, cold snow. He smiled, just like he use to. He tried to build a snowman, but he collapsed as he did. A few minutes later, Akaashi was looking for him in his hospital room. Akaashi checked everywhere, then he looked outside the window. all he saw was his soulmate, lying there, shivering, trying to get up. Akaashi gasped as he stared in shock and sadness.

Akaashi ran down the stairs, so, so quickly. It was like one of his games with Bokuto, when they were about to be in a match but they were late, so they ran down the stairs. He went outside to Bokuto. He held Bokuto's cold hand. Akaashi brought him inside, trying not to cry. He could hear Bokuto's shivers.

Akaashi wrapped up Bokuto. at this point, Bokuto was at the edge of dying. Akaashi knew he was, and he wanted to spend it alone with him. So Akaashi didn't call for any doctors. Bokuto slightly woke up, still shivering. He put his pale hand on Akaashi's face, and smiled. "'Kaashi... you came.." he said very weakly. Akaashi replied with, "Yes. I will always come for you, Bokuto. No matter where you are, I'll always find you.". Akaashi started to tear up, feeling the warmth of his lover's hand.

"Akaashi... make a promise to me" Bokuto said. Akaashi was shocked, Bokuto never asked Akaashi to make promises. "Don't wait for me. Find another true love, don't let my downfall scar you're life. Please Akaashi, for me." Akaashi's eyes widened. His tears fell on Bokuto's arm. "Bokuto.. why? Why now of all times... Why do you have to leave me now.."

Akaashi said, while trembling. Bokuto replied with, "Akaashi, I'm not leaving you. I never will... I'll always be here.." Bokuto put his hand on Akaashi's heart, smiling. "I would never leave you.. Akaashi. Whenever you feel sad, put your hand on your heart and remember, that I'm there. You may not see it.. but I will always be there.. supporting you through everything... even if you get a new lover, I'll smile and cheer for you guys at your wedding." Bokuto said. Akaashi was in tears, He put his head on Bokuto's head and said, "I'll never find another. No one can replace the ace of Fukurodani, no one could ever replace you, Bokuto..". Bokuto started tearing up too. "Akaashi, smile for me." Bokuto smiled. "Especially now... when there's not enough happiness to balance the sadness.. you will never have... a... bright... fu..ture..." Bokuto said. His smile faded, and his eyes turned pale.

"I love you, Akaashi. I'll see you soon..." Bokuto said very weakly. Akaashi hugged the dead body, his lover's dead body.

1 week later, at Bokuto's funeral, Akaashi stayed a little longer. He stared down at Bokuto's body, and pulled out something It was a polaroid of Him and Bokuto, on their first date. He placed it in Bokuto's hand, and said, "I will forever love you, Bokuto. My heart is forever loyal to you, and you only." as he walked away, crying.

4 months later, Kuroo dropped by. It was still snowing.. Akaashi opened the door, but had dark circles around his eyes. Kuroo handed Akaashi a box, and said, "I found this.. I think he wanted you to have it." and walked away. Akaashi smiled, opening the box. He found a ring, a diary and pictures of him and Bokuto. In the diary, was Bokuto writing in the hospital.

"Dear diary,

i really wanna get out of here! its so boring :( I know im gonna die soon... i just know i am. in this state, theres no way i'll come out alive... all i want is to play a last game with Akaashi :( I wanted to purpose, but its not gonna work now... Im gonna go, Akaashi's coming soon! bye for now :)"

-Bokuto

Tears dropped onto the diary as Akaashi's smile faded away and turned into a sad face. He fell onto the floor, clenching the box to his heart.

Akaashi felt a warm hand on his back. It felt too familiar.. He looked up, seeing Bokuto before him. Bokuto was smiling sadly. Akaashi got up in disbelief and hugged him back. He was warm, and didn't have a hospital smell. "It's gonna be okay, love. I'm always here for you, remember that..." Bokuto said. Akaashi started crying from the shock he was in, then he fell.

It was still snowing, so Akaashi fell into the snow. The snow, the soft, delicate snow that Bokuto fell in.
