have you ever wondered what it would be like to just disappear?
to leave all your anxieties and problems behind, along with your so called "family" and finally be free.
chai miyeon wondered the same all the time.
she was sick of everything. sick of her classmates. sick of her coworkers. sick of her mother and father who would constantly compare her to her "perfect" younger sister.
sick of feeling like eyes were on her every single second of being out in public. sick of life.the list just kept going on. miyeon was done.
she just wished life would give her a break.
lee donghyuck felt the same as well, sprawled out on the floor of the practice room as the rest of nct 127 were scattered around the room, each taking long gulps of water as practice had finally ended for the night.
he felt exhausted and overworked as both of his subunits prepared for their comebacks. he felt like he wasn't doing good enough, taeyong and the choreographer constantly nagging at him to be more smooth and stay on beat.
he just wanted an escape, yearning to experience the feeling of relaxation once more.
"yo haechan," mark called to the boy, interrupting his thoughts.
he sat up, pushing himself off the floor and grabbing his bottle, and headed towards the boy as they were to head back to the dorms.
it was 10:00 pm, the group had been practicing all afternoon, taking a break for dinner in between.
donghyuck inhaled as the boys walked out the door, the refreshing, cool night breeze hitting his face and blowing his t-shirt in the slightest.
mark and johnny were to his right, laughing at something on the latter's phone as they headed in the direction of their dorms.
donghyuck pulled his cap down further and mask more up as the group passed a middle aged couple taking a night stroll.
the boy watched as they passed, observing their stress free faces at their arms swung between them.
"must be nice," taeil stole the words right out of donghyuck's mouth as he appeared beside him.
"yeah," he briefly nodded before looking down at the ground.
taeil frowned beneath his mask, worried for the younger.
"how are you doing?" he asked the boy, almost not letting himself ask knowing donghyuck would just lie. but it was better to ask than not, right?
donghyuck crinkled his eyes, pretending to smile.
"i'm doing fine. just a little tired, you?"
taeil let out a quiet sigh.
"i'm tired too. make sure to try and get a snack when we get back to the dorms, i noticed you didn't eat much today."
donghyuck looked down in shame, embarrassed that the elder had noticed.
he nodded in response, taeil patting him on the back before turning to speak to doyoung behind him.
the 9 had reached the building, splitting up to head to their respective floors.
