It was the next day, classes were beginning, but something was missing. The kids seemed happier and care-free instead of the usual timid and and impulsive. The fear was gone from everyone in the school grounds. Because Big Al did not show up to work today. Kaito had no one to talk to that day. He stayed happy and taught the lessons he needed to teach, but nothing felt the same without Al there. Kaito actually enjoyed Al's company. He was fascinated about how Al was based off of Frankenstein's monster and how creepy he looked. During the middle of his 7th class, a student walked up to Kaito. It was a little girl named, Rin.
"Why are you feeling sad today, Mr. Taro?" Rin said with concern
Kaito was stunned on how Rin could tell that he was feeling a bit off today. "Oh, I'm just missing someone is all."
Rin tilted her head a bit. "Who? Is it you spouse? Because she left early for a doctor's appointment today."
"No, I know that," Kaito sighed "It's someone else. He's tall and honestly the only person I can talk to anymore in this school."
Rin giggled "And why do you miss him so much? I'm sure he's just feeling sick today"
Kaito started to panic. "Uhm, Rin, how about you head over to your next class, I need a moment." He rushed out the door and immediately went to the school's library.
Rin was left alone in the classroom, but she gathered all her stuff and went to her next class, still confused.
Kaito made his way down the stairs, but he tripped on the 4th to last step and landed face first onto the floor. He took a moment to cry from the pain and then he stood up like nothing happened. Kaito looked around the library and noticed that the librarian wasn't here either, instead there was a substitute working at the counter. He sat in one of the chairs and started to cry again."Where are they?!" He said out loud. Luckily no one was in the library besides the substitute, so she went over there to comfort him.
"What's the matter, Sir?" The woman sat next to Kaito.
Kaito wiped his tears and covered his face. "My friend and his wife aren't here today!!!" He gave a frown.
"A little childish to be crying over that, don't you think?" The woman laughed a bit and patted Kaito's back
Kaito furrowed his eyebrows and blushed a bit in embarrassment. "I don't think it's childish. I just miss them a lot. It's so chaotic without their presence." Kaito got up from his seat and began to head back up the stairs.
The woman stopped Kaito. "How about you get yourself a water? You look drained. Best to look your best in a learning environment!" She smiled
Kaito felt more upset and ignored her. "Have a nice day, lady. See you eventually." He pouted and made his way back up the stairs. Slowly and carefully, he made it up and he sat in the beginning of the hallway.
"What is wrong with me today? I'm not even that focused on Mrs. FX. I'm more worried about her husband" Kaito spoke to himself. He felt no need to keep his thoughts to himself. The area was quiet. Kaito's heart was beating fast and he got nervous. He felt that scary presence again. Now the room got colder and he was shaking. He looked over to his right and saw a man standing over him. It was Al. Kaito's looked up and screamed, crying with fear as he moved away. Al was confused and noticed that he had red stains on his undershirt. Al immediately took off the shirt.
"Trust me! It's not blood! I spilled my slushie earlier. Please, it's not what you think!" Al started shaking with worry.
Kaito tilted his head, but then ignored what Al said. He started gazing at Al's torso. Then at his legs. "You have a perfect figure..."
Al blushed at this and immediately zipped up his sweater "What? What are you talking about? Are you sick? Because my sweater was never open." The flustered monsterloid looked away with a blush. Kaito got even more confused.
"Why be so embarrassed about a compliment? I'm just saying you have a nice figure. I kind of want to see more than just your torso though. " Kaito said this with a smile, not realizing what he said. Al furrowed his brows.
"K-Kaito! We're at a school!" Al put his hands in his sweatpants' pockets.
Kaito innocently said, "I know we are!"
Al internally screamed and walked out of the hallway. Kaito was left there alone.
"What did I say wrong?" He awkwardly chuckles and he followed after Al. "Wait up, Biggie!"
"Don't call me that!" Al whined and he felt more embarrassed. "Ahhhhh! Go back to work, you crazed ice cream machine!" He ran down the stairs
Kaito kept following Al "But why? I've already been replaced by a substitute by now! Stop avoiding me!"
Al sped up his running and instead of heading our the front door he ran to the gym. Kaito would still tag along. He knew Al told him to stop, but something in him says that he should just keep following. When Al got to the gym, his last class was already waiting there for him.
"Ok, kids, give me 4 laps around the gym and then come back for a warm-up" Al said this with a voice crack. He was extremely worried that Kaito was still looking for him that he could barely keep his focus. As the kids passed by him they gave a smirk. It was as if they knew what had happened.
Kaito finally got to the gym, but before he could go up to Al, he sat on the floor and catches his breath. Al turned his head to the left and saw the blur of Kaito's deep blue hair. He held in his scream and went to sit on the stage. Kaito got up and walked to Al.
"I finally found you! For a really tall guy, you're pretty fast. How fast can you go? Is there a limit to your speed? Also, hey, can you produce electricity? If you can, best to show me now, because that sounds so cool! Another thing, can we hang out after work? I get really bored and I have already noticed that our wives are busy half the time!" The bickering kept going on and on. Al had to hear Kaito talk for the entire class. He couldn't even give instructions properly, so the students got barely any physical activity.
At the end of class, the whole school day was done and the kids made a run for their lockers. Kaito laughed at all the children running by. Al grabbed him stuff and headed to the library. Kaito noticed this and followed him.
"Hey, Al? Why are you going to the library? The day is over!"
"Don't you have some sense? We don't go home yet." Al opened the library doors and the place was empty. "...Or maybe we do go home this time."
Kaito laughed and took a hold of Al's hand. "Let's walk home together, shall we?"
Al blushed at this action. He couldn't help but smile. "We shall..." He gave a shy look, but he saw this as a chance at actually doing something with another person other than someone in his family. He had a friend now, this is a new experience. The two men walked out the front doors and walked home together. That was the end of their second day.
