Chapter 1
I couldn’t tell you how long I had been asleep; I just remember waking up to white... Which is odd as my bedroom should have been dark (and when not dark it’s painted a lovely shade of red, which sounds bad but you would have to see it to know what I mean). Anyway getting back to the white, I don’t just mean light... no I mean everything was white... the walls the floor and the ceiling glowed with an inner light which strangely didn’t hurt my eyes. And I wasn’t laying down I was standing there in this white lit room, which actually wasn’t a room at all.
Now anyone who knows me will tell you I have strange dreams... Freaky dreams and weird ones but this one was a doozy even from my perspective... I mean why a white room that wasn’t a room?
“Wow Scarlett this is strange even for you.” (Yes I talk to myself... Who doesn’t?) “It has to top the 10 weirdest dreams of your life.”
“It isn’t a dream.”
What the fuck! Was my initial thought before turning toward the sound of the VOICE.
I say the VOICE cos this was one of those sounds which cause the little hairs on the back of your neck to stand up... it was deep and rich and scrummy... which strangely almost matched the speaker.
He was build like a warrior and had the most perfect tan I had seen outside of a box (but I don’t think it was the result of a box or a tube you just knew this was natural.) he had perfectly messed up dark brown hair... the kind guys would love and spend hours trying to perfect with little success. A face which would make the best looking guy in the world weep after seeing it. He was tall... well I am only five foot three inches but he topped six and a half foot easily if not taller.
Oh and did I mention he sported a huge set of wings?
“It has to be a dream cos I know Angels don’t exist.”
“Says who?” Perfect VOICE enquired.
“Well everyone... there is no proof Angels are real, so this has to be a dream.” My voice was triumphant in reply.
“Ah yes the eponymous everyone! Can you provide me with scientific proof they do not exist?” The VOICE queried.
“Err no I can’t” I stammered. “But this has to be a dream... It just has to.”
