Ushijima began to observe the red-haired boy, resting on his shoulder: he could see his cheeks a little reddened in contrast with his pale skin, his gaze fixed in front of them, his eyes half closed, he could hear his faint breath, as well as the pleasant sound of the waves of the sea, which released a salty
smell.
The nasal cannula still was under his small upturned nose, while a little cloud of air came out of his mouth, probably he was cold.

"Are you cold?" then Ushijima asked.

"No, don't worry. - the red-haired boy replied, without looking away. - How do you know this place?"  he said.

"I discovered it by accident, actually. - laughed the boy - I like being here."

"Me too." Satori smiled, lifting his head from Ushijima's shoulder.
"Wait but you can see the hospital from here! I had never seen this place from my room."  the boy continued, pointing to far buildings beyond the beach, including this one.

"I don't think you can see this place very well from there, but when we get back I'll show you where it is."  Ushijima said turning towards the distant structure, Satori nodded.

"Can we eat now?" Tendou said hungry.
"Sure." smiled the other boy.

Satori and Wakatoshi began to eat and talk about everything.
Ushijima realized how stupid he had been not to visit Tendou for all those weeks, he liked to talk to him, as they had always done since they were little.
Satori had always had only him, and Wakatoshi knew this.
The brown-haired boy had always helped Tendou for his illness, but he still didn't know how he made Ushijima feel good.

"Why do you always look at your Tendou watch?" the boy asked, seeing that the other didn't stop checking the time every five minutes.

The boy stopped eating and adjusted his nasal cannula.
"Two hours have already passed. I don't want to go back there." he said looking away.

Ushijima stood still for a moment, then he went close to the boy.
"Hey, don't think about it. I'll take you back here, okay?" he said putting his hand on the boy's shoulder.
Tendou nodded, hugging the boy, then stood up.

"Where are you going?" Ushijima asked, seeing that his friend was moving away.
"Come on, let's go for walk."

"And where? There isn't enough space!" Wakatoshi laughed.
The red-haired boy shrugged and continued to smile, then Ushijima stood up.
As soon as he took a step, however, Tendou put a hand in front of his mouth and turned away.
Ushijima was frightened when the boy knelt on the sand, but then he thought that he probably would have thrown up like the night before, indeed it happened.

Wakatoshi ran to the red-haired boy, crouching next to him.
"Are you okay?" then he asked, stroking Satori's hair.
The boy didn't look at him.

"I'm sorry."

In a short time Wakatoshi noticed that Tendou was crying.

"But what are you apologizing for, Tendou? Come on, come here."  Ushijima said hugging him, the other boy hugged him too.

"Are you ok?" he insisted.

"Yes. - he answered dissolving the hug - Come on, let's go for a walk." he said forcing a smile.

The rest of the afternoon passed quite quickly, the two boys had a lot of fun.
Tendou found comfort seeing his friend joking with him, since Wakatoshi wasn't a very open person to everyone.
In a short time it was evening, and Ushijima and Tendou were seated again on the beach, tired from the day.
A little wind had picked up, so the two boys would soon be back in the hospital.

"Wakatoshi-kun." Tendou began suddenly, intent on adjusting the thin nasal cannula.
The salty smell of the sea soon managed to fill his sick lungs, allowing him to release a slight sigh.

"Tell me."

Looking at the magnificent view, the boy hesitated for a second.

"If at the end of our life we had the possibility to choose our own "paradise", I would choose this place."

Ushijima was confused for a moment.  Tendou usually said strange things, but that amazed the boy.
Seeing that the other hadn't answered, the red-haired boy continued.
"Forget about it. It's stupid."

"No, not at all." smiled the other boy.

Tendou smiled too, without looking at Ushijima.
The brown-haired boy saw that it was getting late, so he thought it was time to go.
"Tendou... I'm sorry, but it's 6 o'clock, we'd better start walking."

The other boy nodded and got up without replying, contrary to what the brown-haired boy would have thought.
Once arrived beyond the small wall, however, Tendou stopped, making Ushijima go on.

"What's up?" the brown-haired boy asked, stopping himself too.

"Promise me." said Satori.

"What?"

"Promise me you'll take me back here, at least one more time."

Wakatoshi hesitated for a moment, he didn't know if promising would be the best thing to do.
"I promise you." finally he said.

Tendou reached Ushijima, and the two returned to the hospital.
The brown-haired boy stayed with Tendou until after dinner, then it was time to go.
Satori was lying on the bed keeping his eyes closed, tired from the day he had passed, while the other boy sat next to him.

"Tendou, I have to go home now."  Wakatoshi said, moving his friend's shoulder slightly.
The red-haired boy muttered something that Ushijima didn't understand, but still made him understand that the other boy didn't want him to go away.

"If you want I can stay here until you fall asleep." Ushijima said.

The red-haired boy gave a small smile and nodded.
Tendou fell asleep quickly, so Ushijima stopped stroking his hair and left the room greeting him, despite him sleeping.
