It's Friday afternoon Carsen and I are driving to the red box to rent a movie. As we drive up to the red box he opens my door and puts his arms around my waist. We look through all the movies, usually I have a really hard time picking since I like basically all movie genres. We finally agrees on one and drive back to his house. He lives with his dad his parents are divorced. However, his dad is away for the weekend on a business trip. So it's just him currently. We make sure to pick up some popcorn and sour patch gummy worms because those are the best. For me one of the best part of being in a relationship is just being able to hang out and watch movies. It's basically been a tradition for Carsen and I to at least watch a movie together once a month. Carsen even has a little movie theater type thing in his basement. His dad works a lot and makes good money so he's away a lot on business trips. I try and keep Carsen company for as long as I can because, I know how awful it is to be alone all the time.
We hang out at home first before we play the movie to get everything ready. I put the popcorn in and wait for all the little kernels as I make the popcorn on the stove. As I'm watching it he comes up behind me and kisses my cheek, I giggle and turn around. He lift me up and sets me down on the kitchen counter.
" You know Josh is thinking of ending it with Liv?" He says
" Really why would he do that I thought they were happy?" I question
"He says they don't really have anything is common anymore."
"I guess their just growing apart" I assume.
The microwave beeps and I slowly climb down to get it out of the microwave. I poor it in this cute little popcorn bowl and we get ready to watch the movie. He goes to put on sweatpants complaining jeans are not the correct attire. I'm already wearing leggings so I'm pretty comfortable. He gets out the big blanket and puts the CD in the player. Then I sit down on the couch. He pulls me close to him under the covers. His hands brush over my bare skin and give my the chills at first.
As the movie continues on and on I start to get tired. I figured we would go more with something Carsen likes, which are those super long marvel movies. Where you think it's over but no it's really not they like to show the credits and then the movie and then credits and so on. It tricks me every time. I never understood these movies I mean in the beginning they're just trying to kill everyone; then all of sudden they figure out that the guy they were trying to kill the whole time is like they're long lost brother or something. Like seriously they should have thought this through before they just start killing everyone. But of course Carsen loves this stuff so I don't admit to him that its pretty stupid. As long as I'm spending time with him its okay.
" So how are you liking the movie so far?" he asks
I laugh " uh it's good"
He nods and continues watching.
Soon the movie comes to and end and it's already 10:30. I help clean up the room and get ready to go. We walk to the car and he driving me home. I turn the heat on recline my chair. It's sad to think that when he goes off to college we won't be able to watch movies together whenever we want. We won't go to the same school or even live in the same town anymore. I try not to think about it but sometimes it all just gets to much.
" What do you think will happen when you go off to college Carson?"
" I don't know" he replies
" well it's in almost four months away"
" Just don't worry about it Cole" he replies.
But that's one thing I can't help but worry about. If we're going to break up or have a long distance relationship I'm not sure. I guess whatever happens happens though right?
We get to my house and he walks me to the door. I lean in and give him a quick kiss on the lips. His hair is all messy and adorable. When I get home Liv calls asking me about going shopping on Saturday for bathing suits to get ready for Sunday.
"You know we are staying at that beach house since we don't have school on Monday because of Presidents day. " States Liv.
" Oh in that case I probably better start packing." I reply
" Yep just don't forget to tell you mom your staying over so she doesn't freak out ." Liv laughs
"Will do.." I reply
" I need to get a really got bathing suit"
" I feel like Nick is loosing interest" Liv mumbles
" Nah he for sure is not" I try to sound confident.
It's starting to sound like Carsen and I were the only ones not having some sort of relationship problem here. Maybe they were just over thinking it though Nick and Liv have been dating for awhile but that doesn't mean he loosing interest. it would be stupid if he was just because, she now old news. However, I shouldn't be worrying about them too much, on the side note I am going to be spending the weekend with Carsen. I'm excited about spending the days at the beach with him and of course the rest of my friends. Drama free just relaxing and not having a care in the world seems so nice right now. After the conversation is over I look through my closet to try and pick out some outfits. Palm Springs is boiling even this time of year so I try and dress appropriately. I get out a cute pair of light wash shorts and a cropped seashell t-shirt. Then for the next day I go for a pretty sun dress with and open back, and some white sandals I got on sale at Nordstrom's rack. I packed it all up into a black beach bag. Then pack the essentials I pick out a pretty bandeau with lace. The sun screen and sunglasses. And my white vans just in case we decided to go to the city at night.
I got a text from Josh saying he'll be a little late since he has to drop something off at his grandmas house first. I didn't for sure know if that was true but I went along with it anyways. I mean I have never heard Josh talk about his grandma before I never even knew he had a grandma that was in driving distance. That made me slightly suspicious. I was debating on whether to talk to Taylor about it. I mean I didn't want to doubt their relationship but I also didn't want Taylor getting hurt. That's the hardest decision because, sometimes the truth hurts way more than the lie does.
I go take a quick shower before I hop into bed. It's now 12:00 which is technically morning. I just keep imagining the beach how peaceful and relaxing it will be...
