The flat of Joe Sugg looked absolutely beautiful from the outside. I was hoping it wasn't going to awkward considering I haven't met Joe or his flat mate Caspar who was coming back from America in a couple of hours. Zoe rang the doorbell while I held some decorations in a plastic bag. A voice came through a small intercom on the side of the door.
"Oh hey Zo!" A male voice came through almost as if he forgot Zoe was coming.
"Hello Joe." Zoe nodded.
"Come on up. Caspar just landed. He's stopping for some Nandos and then he'll be back so we have to hurry." Joe informed his sister.
"Good enough!"
She opened the door and I followed her. I walked behind Zoe as I wondered if Joe had noticed me or if the bags I was holding had been blocking me. He just never seemed to acknowledge my presence. We had to walk up three flights of stairs to get to the flat. When we got there and Joe opened the door, I suddenly felt awkward and shy again. Like I felt with Alfie, Felix, and Marzia. Joe was a thin boy in his early twenties. I assumed he was 21 at the time. He had messy brown/blond hair, rich brown eyes, and white skin with a couple a mole on his neck with I found kind of attractive. I couldn't be attractive to Joe at all because he doesn't seem like my kind of guy. We entered Joe's apartment and I was shown to the dining room. I put the bags down on the table and followed Zoe to the living room. We sat down on the couch and waited for Joe.
"So, you said you were studying here?" Zoe asked remembering our first conversation.
"Yeah, I'm going to school to get a degree in makeup and business. I want to start my own line of products when I get out." I informed her.
"Cool! I make videos about it and I have a line. Maybe I could help you." She offered.
"Totally! That would be great!"
That's when we heard foot steps coming up the stairs. It was Joe.
"Hello Zoe!" He said walking over and hugging his sister.
"Um, Joe. This is Jenny. I met her in the airport a few hours ago an I was kind of showing her around. I thought I'd bring her to, you know, meet people." Zoe introduced me.
Joe looked at me and kind of stared. He held out his hand and I shook it. There was a static shock and we both immediately pulled away.
"I'm sorry." I apologized for the shock.
"Not a problem. I'm Joe."
"I'm Jenny."
Joe nodded and Zoe and I sat back on the couch.
"So, what are you doing in England?" Joe asked.
"There aren't any decent makeup schools in Ireland." I said.
"Alright then." Joe said sitting at the bar.
"So what are we doing for Caspar exactly?" Zoe asked standing up and walking over to the bags I was holding earlier. She rummaged through them to find some streamers to hang up.
"Today is his 7 month anniversary with Michelle so I thought we'd roll that in with his coming home party."
"Oh of course! Why didn't I think of that?"
"No idea."
I sat quietly while Zoe and Joe went through their sibling fun and banter. Joe would look over at me a few time while Zoe talked and set up things for Caspar. I didn't really do anything besides sit there. That's when I got a text from Vikki. The first one since yesterday. But it felt like an eternity.
Hey lovely'She texted.

Hello, what's up?

Nothing really. Had to move into a flat with this really weird girl at Uni. She has like eight sexual partners. I don't think I'm going to like her very much. What about you? What are you up to?

I met a girl at the airport and now I'm at her brother's house. She supposed to be showing me around Brighton but she's setting up for her friend's home coming party.

Oh, I'm sorry. It's awkward isn't it?

Very awkward.

And what about her brother? Is he hot?

I don't know. I don't really see anything in him. I barely know him. I just know that his name is Joe.

Brilliant! Well, I have to go to a lecture for the freshman. I'll talk to you sometime. Later.

Bye Vik.

After about a couple of hours of Joe and Zoe decorating, there was a knock at the door. Apparently Joe knew who it was because he didn't look at the security camera. Alfie came into the room and immediately hugged Zoe and high-fived Joe. He noticed me and waved before sitting at the bar next to his girlfriend.
"Caspar is going to be here in a couple of minutes so everyone needs to be ready when he gets here. And he's having Michelle over." Joe said taking a chocolate cake from the fridge.
"I don't get why he's with her in the first place. She's kind of rude. And she's always jealous when Caspar is around other girls." Alfie said disappointedly.
"Alfie be nice." Zoe wrapped her arms around his neck from behind.
"I can try but I'm not making any promises."
I walked over to the bar and grabbed a bottle of Pepsi.
"Oh hey! Jenny right?" Alfie asked.
"Yeah. We met at the beach earlier." I reminded Alfie.
That's when the door started to open. A boy with perfect (but messy) blond hair, somewhat pale skin, and luscious blue eyes entered the door. He was so amazingly attractive. He was carrying a backpack and rolling a suitcase behind him. Everyone else ran to hug him so I assumed this was Caspar.
After he settled down, Caspar sat across from me at the bar.
"Hi, I'm Caspar." He nodded after Zoe introduced me again.
"Jenny." I said nodding back.
He held out his hand and I shook it. Then, a girl with fake tanned skin, straight brown hair, and blue eyes came into the flat. Everyone looked at her and went silent. I let go of Caspar's hand and put my own in my jean skirt pocket. The girl came over and sat on Caspar's lap. They kissed for an uncomfortable two minutes. I left the bar and sat on the couch. Joe came and sat next to me.
"They do that a lot." He whispered to me.
"Is it always for this long?" I whispered back.
"Sometimes, it's longer."
"Oh, that must suck. Considering he's your flatmate."
"Trust me. It does."
Zoe looked at Joe and I. She knew that I saw Caspar and immediately thought he was attractive. She walked over and leaned down to my ear.
"We can leave if you want." She told me. "I just thought I'd bring you and introduce you to people."
"I get it. We can stay. I'm fine, I promise." I assured her.
She walked back over to Alfie and sat down. The girl Caspar just got done making out with came over and sat next to Joe.
"Michelle. Hi." Joe said unenthusiastically.
"Hey Joseph." She hugged him. "Long time no see."
"Oh trust me, it wasn't that long."
"And who is she?" Michelle asked in a bitchy tone.
"I'm Jenny. I came here from Ireland to go to University."
"And that's why you were holding hands with my boyfriend?" She got really defensive.
"I was shaking his hand. I just met him."
"It's true babe. You're the only one for me. I promise." He came over to the couch and kissed her neck.
I rolled my eyes. Joe tapped me on the shoulder.
"Want to help me grab something for Caspar? It's for the party." He asked.
"Sure."
'Anything to get away from this' I thought.
