Here I was, sitting on the sofa beside the window while sipping the hot coffee that I made. Looking out of the window, I heard my mom calling me.

"Do you enjoy the warmth of the coffee?" she asked while sitting down in front of me.

"I do enjoy it. After all, it's winter. The temperature is pretty cold" I replied and took a sip of my coffee.

"In about 14 hours, we are entering a new year. I will go to the grocery store to buy some groceries for our dinner" she said

"Don't forget that you have an appointment with your friends in a few minutes" she said

"Don't worry mom, I remember about it" I simply replied to her.

I took the coffee cup from the table and walked towards the kitchen sink to wash it. Not long after, I heard a car horn outside of the house. I walked near to the front door of the house to put on my shoes and coat. I said goodbye to my mother before leaving the house with the small bag I brought with me.

I was born in a family that is not rich. I was currently in college and was one of the students who entered the college which was big and rich thanks to a scholarship because of my intelligence. The students at the college were mostly born in rich families, unlike me. Many students didn't want to be my friends because I was not considered their level. However, there were two students who wanted to be my friend. They didn't compare me like the other students.

"Yuna, Jake! I miss you both!" I said with a smile.

"We miss you too avocado" Yuna said.

"So, mall we go?" Jake asked while driving the car.

"Yes!" Yuna said excitedly.

Jake drove us to the mall that was not far from my house. While he drove us, we talked about what we should do for next year. Jake and Yuna were debating about going to a beach or going to another country.

"Y/N! Going to another country is much better than going to a beach right?" Jake asked me while still focusing on the road.

"Nah, I disagree. Beach is more fun" Yuna said while glaring at Jake.

"I'm up to you guys" I said calmly.

Soon, we arrived at the mall. Jake parked the car carefully in the empty parking lot that was in the basement. We got out of the car and walked towards the mall escalator, which is a little far from the car. Arriving, we went up to the top floor of the mall, which was the fourth floor to find food for lunch.

After we discussed, we decided to eat at the restaurant that we often eat at the mall. Since it was lunch hour, the restaurant was crowded but we were lucky to get an empty table.

"After we finish lunch, let's take a little walk in the mall and then go to the park which is nearby" Jake said while scrolling his phone screen.

"I found that a lot of people took photos in the park near this mall and I saw that the photos were good" Jake said while showing us the photos from his phone.

"Then, without further ado, let's go there after this" Yuna replied with a happy smile.

When the food we ordered came out, we immediately ate it. We did not speak during meals because it is not polite. After we finished, Jake stood up from his chair and walked to the cashier to pay for our food.
