Before I begin, I wish to inform you of this story's short past. I had written this story before, back when I was in 7th grade (2014). I wasn't really pleased with how it came out due to the fact that it felt rushed. Back then, it was called Sweet Amanda. I have decided that I am going to rewrite this story, keeping the main plot line, but making the story more vivid and longer. Thanks for reading.

Nysa (n.)

a group of asteroids in the Main Belt

Asteroids are rocks in space that cause damage if they come in contact with anything else. Nysa Malfoy caused damage to those around her once she came in contact with the Dark Lord.

...

Nysa Narcissa Malfoy was a bright, cheerful young girl of 2 years old. She was the apple of her parent's eye. Nysa was a very intelligent child. Her parents were sure, that when the time came, she would be sorted into Ravenclaw at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Nysa and her parents lived in a small cottage in a wizarding community. Her family was very close with everyone that lived in that town. Nysa was always down at the marketplace with her mother. The townspeople loved Nysa. Her giggles brightened up everyone's day.

When news got around that Narcissa was expecting again, the town cheered at the thought of another Nysa running around. Gifts were sent to the Malfoys house for the new baby. Parties were thrown everywhere in their honor. Nysa was ecstatic to be getting a sibling. She would talk to her mom's stomach as if having a conversation with the unborn child.

One night, after yet another baby shower that had been thrown for the Malfoy's, they found themselves in their kitchen eating some supper that their neighbors had brought for them. There was a loud knock on the front door. Lucius got up from the kitchen table, where Narcissa was sitting, her baby bump, now 8 months along, restraining her from sitting upright at the table, and little Nysa, who was sitting, playing with her food.

Lucius reached the door, but there was no one there. Shrugging, Lucius entered the kitchen, only to see Narcissa holding Nysa close to her and pointing at the wall behind him. He turned around to see a bald man dressed in black robes, pure white skin, and a nose so flat, it almost was nonexistent. The words, Lord Voldemort popped into Lucius' head.

"Ah Lucius, Narcissa, and sweet little Nysa." his cold voice hissed. "How is this happy family this evening?"

"What do you want?" Lucius growled.

Voldemort's demeanor changed entirely. "You and Narcissa to join me. You are both extremely skilled wizards. I also require that both your children grow up to serve me."

Lucius narrowed his eyes at the Dark Lord's demands. "Never. I will not submit my wife's, or my children's lives to you."

Quicker than Lucius could blink, a voice yelled the killing curse and a green light filled the room. Lucius stood in shock, but snapped out of it by Narcissa's sobs. He looked over to see her clutching Nysa's lifeless body. Lucius' eyes shot toward Voldemort, who had his wand raised. He walked over to Narcissa and directed his wand toward her stomach.

"Care to rethink our deal?" Voldemort smirked.

Lucius looked back to his wife, who had tears streaming out of her eyes, holding her first born, and crying into her hair. "We will..." Lucius took a breath. "We will join you."

"Excellent." The Dark Lord grinned maliciously right before apparating out of the house.

Lucius dropped on his knees, silently crying for the loss of his daughter. When the town heard the news, they mourned. Nysa's funeral lasted three days. There was unstoppable crying in every household.

The Malfoys decided to move away from their friends, away from the memories of their sweet little girl. They moved to a large house in the country, secluded from all. Draco was born a few weeks after the move. Even as a baby, Lucius was hard on him. Draco would cry for hours in the night, for Lucius would refuse to let Narcissa go check on him and calm him down.

Narcissa suggested having another child, but Lucius would not hear of it. He was not letting another child of his serve the Dark Lord. Draco was raised to think that blood status mattered, to be cruel to all, and to think that anyone in any other Hogwarts house was scum.

It broke Narcissa's heart that she had not only lost her daughter that night, but also her husband whom she loved so dearly. Mr. Malfoy was completely broken. Voldemort took away his pride and joy, and left behind a miserable cruel man.
