Phase 1- Entering The Medium

Hello! In this section I'm gonna explain the process of entering the Medium, and thus starting the game. Throughout this little book I'll be using all knowledge from homestuck as well as speculation and bridged knowledge to form how a functional game should work and not the mess of an example homestuck itself is. However it's the perfect starting example for this chapter.

How do we go about entering the Medium? It's not necessarily easy but it's not the worst thing the game throws at you. As soon as you put your client application in that's when you notice the meteors coming to turn Earth into a desolate waste land. You and your server player have to work on getting your home and your items ready.

Preparing your home maybe be as easy as just placing the items around, or expanding your house so you can have them all in a close space. All that is really up to your server player and how well you communicate with them.

The items you place are free of charge, they are the Totem Lathe, the Alchemiter, the Cruxtruder, and a very important pre-punched card.

Activation of the Cruxtruder allows you to get Cruxcite Dowels and releases your KernelSprite. It also starts counting down to the start of the Reckoning and when the meteors will start landing, or other impending dooms provided a reckoning not occur.

It is here I will state that you should really prototype your KernelSprite at least once before entering the Medium as it can throw off your game, otherwise as after you enter the Medium they just disappear and cause a void session, truly it's very important you prototype once before you enter The Medium.

The actual process starts with the Cruxite Dowel, you take it to the totem lathe, and use the pre-punched card to carve the Cruxite Dowel into something a bit more useful.

Carved Cruxite Dowels usually create more
important items then regular alchemizing. After taking your Carved Dowel and place it on the Alchemiter's pedestal, the Carved Cruxite Dowel will be scanned and will create your Cruxite item to take you into the Medium.

Usually the Dowel will make a large Cruxite item and a smaller Item known as a Cruxite artifact and will come off of the larger item before the larger item vanishes to symbolize your departure. You must then take your Cruxite Artifact and break it to be brought into the medium.
