" Humans talking."
" The Decayed talking."
" Levi's mum talking."

Levi hurriedly unlocked the door and bee-lined it to his bedroom.  He reached under the mattress, flopped down on the bed, and opened his journal.  Nothing could distract him as he scribbled manically trying to capture what happened.  He wrote like this every day so that someone at some time could try to understand. Going to reread his previous adventures with Eren he pulled out his journal before he went to submit a part of it to the local paper.

People say these things, these creatures come in different shapes and sizes but no one knows what they look like. Some of them look like stone angel statues, others of us appear as gargoyles, or even carved stone baby statues. What they can or cannot do, harmful or helpful, friendly or not. What is known about these creatures is that they can feed off of energy. The energy they feed off of what many believe to be what they are calling potential energy, displacing people through time and space just to get this energy they feed on to live. The ones who turned against the people who displaced them through time and space, they are considered to be rogues among us. But what they don't know is that they also feed off the potential energy of dead dreams and wishes that were never fulfilled for whatever reason. Many of these creatures roam this very city just like we do. Made of stone, moves when no one's looking, let me show you. They seem to be calling us the decaying why we are not aware but plan on figuring it out, now if you'd take my hand so we can go.

For a short moment, I felt myself falling with this statue, a member of the decaying before I felt the wind blowing against my face. The creature's wings spread out guiding the both of us over this city they watch. Both nervous and concerned about what's going to happen to me can I trust this statue I'm with or not, can I trust this creature or does it wish to harm me like the others as this one has. Some of them have taken my friends and family, I have heard of them taking others too but this one seems different. Given this one has not told me its name or what their goal or whatever this is they seem to trust me so I shall trust them for now. " Hey, are you doing alright, you seem distracted, do you have any questions for me?"

" I'm fine just thinking about what it is you want to share with me, and if you have a name."

" A-a name I've never thought about a name for myself sure I've been called Eren but it's been a few centuries since anyone asked."

" I see they call me Levi, but I must ask why are you telling me this? Showing me this?"

We land somewhere unfamiliar to me, a part of the city I have never been to in a long time, a part of the city that's been closed off for years by the local government. Made illegal to be in for no more than the fact that seems to be the part of city legend has it the decayed come from. They call this stretch of the city the forgotten lands, nobody came here ever since ten years ago, last time I was here I was six almost seven.

" I brought you here because this was the place we first met a decade ago. I figured I'd show you what our life is and what our life has become. Hiding in the shadows like monsters under the bed, being feared like the monsters and demons in your dreams. All most of us want is to be a part of your society and interact with you people in the city limits and be a part of your world yet again. If I were to guess they'll listen to you, either that or you know someone who can make them listen."

" Y-You're the statue with a smile I had seen that day but why me? Why did you trust me then? Why do you trust me now? What makes me different from anyone else, and why can you move and talk when I'm looking at you but not other humans?"

" As stated yes that was me that day when you were a child I was smiling because you gave me hope that maybe this world could change. Show you just how much we miss the life we had once had, trusting you was simple because when I smiled at you you smiled back. When most would just scowl at us as they passed us or looked at us, when you looked at me you didn't scowl, you didn't hate you simply seemed curious. That's what sets you apart from the rest of your kind is that you didn't react negatively towards us, which is why I trust you can move and speak when you're looking at me is because I trust you. As for my abilities if you trust me they cannot affect you."
