Because of a curse set long ago, something natural was taken away from the human race.
The human heart has never had the ability to feel love. They have always been careless and horrible.
Which is why, over time..
Cupids were manifested.
The tales of cupids became apparent in human history when humans began to feel emotions. They made the name 'Cupid' up to blame these feelings on.
However; a small branch of cupids believed that making humans feel emotions was unnatural, so they dedicated all of their lives to reversing the effect.
These were called heartbreakers; the cupid's enemy.
There have been many wars against cupids and heartbreakers. The hatred they felt for eachother was so strong and pure that it made two separate worlds; humans called these Heaven and Hell. Conspiracies of angels and demons came in because of these, and heartbreakers were always referred to as demons, as they took away the emotions from humans that the cupids granted them centuries ago.
Recently, an extraordinarily powerful heartbreaker, or demon was born around the same time as an extraordinarily powerful cupid, or angel.
