From what I could tell from the woods that surrounded us, he purposefully wanted his house to be hidden from the "terrors", I didn't mind of course I loved nature.
The subtlety of it came to a close when the start of a seriously tall, what appeared to be iron, wall started appearing outside my window, from what I could tell it must of went the whole way around his estate.
My body betrayed me and I let out a small gulp, to which Dom, I mean Dominic, replied by putting his hand on the back of mine, which was sitting on my leg, great now I was even more nervous.
We rolled up to a very large gate and Dominic said something which I assume was some sort of password, and it opened to reveal the most beautiful archways, black and covered in vines, which stretched across the path we were now driving up.
On either side of us was a very spacious garden, apple trees, cherry trees, roses, tulips and I could make out a small marble pedestal, upon it a golden plaque.
I heard Dominic clear his throat to avert my gaze to his, he gestured forwards with his eyes and I couldn't believe my eyes, I lived in a Castle, but this, this was on a different level.
It was smaller than your average royal estate but it was so much more beautiful, it just screamed Victorian and I loved it, it was a brick mansion, about 4 stories I'd imagine, with black double doors and a fountain in front of the steps.
Dominic had parked the car before I had even drew my attention from the building, he was now opening my door and offering his hand, I accepted gratefully and we walked up the small flight of steps which led to the large double doors, he wasted no time in opening them, seeming very eager for my reaction, but I swore if you looked close enough, the doors had gold lined through them in beautiful patterns.
An elderly woman approached us before we even stepped through the door, no doubt reaching for it but she stopped in her tracks when Dominic already opened it for me.
"Hello Miss, my name is Adeline, if you need anything please let me know." I smiled, noticing a disapproving look from Dom being shot at Adeline like an arrow. Did he not want me to talk to her? Well, never the less, I have manners.
"It's very nice to meet you Adeline, you're very kind but I won't bother you much, I'm sure." I smiled warmly at her, I wanted her to like me, maybe she was Dominic's mother?
She smiled gratefully before walking away, almost intimidated by Dominics glare, I finally let my eyes wander.
A beautiful grand staircase was centred in the middle of the area, covered in a beautiful tan carpet, most of the walls were brown, with some black wood accents here and there, and brown furniture.
Vintage paintings and interior surrounded me and I was in love, my castle had been much more modern but I always had an eye for older things.
"So, what do you think?" His warm hand brushed against my arm before resting on my shoulder, even that was enough to send energy rushing through me.
"It's..." damn it, words Gwen, words would be good.
"Beautiful." There, I did it.I looked up to meet his gaze, feeling shy all of a sudden and he was staring curiously into my eyes, I could get lost in his eyes, no don't think like that, he's the enemy here.
"Please don't say some cheesy line like "no you're beautiful." I laughed off his hand, stepping away for some distance.
"Actually," He grabbed my hand and spun me around into his chest, "I wouldn't consider you as anything less than breathtaking" He looked down from my lips to my eyes.
God, why do I feel like this, change the subject Gwen, any other subject, his eyes were burning mine, dang it, my words were gone again.
Maybe I don't need words?
I kicked his knee and attempted to walk off but it occurred to me that I had no idea where I was going and I stopped in my tracks.
His hands slid around my waist and gently, but somehow still effectively, lifted me up off the floor before swinging me into his arms princess style.
I let out a giggle and- wait what? I GIGGLED? I don't giggle, ew no. This was my plan of annoying him, so why did it seem playful.
"Well now, you can't exactly hide in your room if you don't know where it is now, can you?" He smirked.
And with that he began walking up the staircase but before I knew it all my protesting and hitting his chest had ended, for some reason I could fight him properly but I didn't want to, I felt something soft beneath me, a bed.
I sat up and saw that I was in a large oak bed, with black bed sheets, which complimented all the other black and chocolate furniture around the room, when I say all I mean the door, another two doors, a table and a dresser.
"Get changed stupida, we are having a special dinner tonight, just you and me."
-So what do we think of the house? And what was with that whole tense situation with Adeline? So many secrets to be found.
