The man who called himself a professional exorcist was tall. He wore a professional looking plaid shirt and tie. He had long dark brown hair that he tied into a ponytail down his back. Deep blue eyes gazed at the world through rectangle lenses. He had a sculpted chin, thin lips and a small, professional smile.
As to why I know all of this, Kyuu was watching him from the hall. She had watched him enter the school and make his way to the secretary's office. In other words, she was our little spy.
It was settled that Sayanel would come back the day after to deal with the Spirits 'plaguing' the school. And so, we held an emergency meeting.
"As if real exorcists exist," Kyuu gritted her teeth.
"They do," I sighed. "Jo's dad is one. And believe me, he's the real deal if you've ever seen any."
"I didn't believe him when he said that that was the family profession, but you knew didn't you, Craft?"
"Hm? Well, yeah. He's offered to make me his apprentice a couple times, but I'm happy with just working at the Shop." I mulled over telling them more. "The ayakashi in the forest really hate him. That's why he doesn't go there unless he has to. And even then, he uses the special doors when it comes to going to the Shop."
"Ah. By the way, Craft, what is that shop, anyway?" Toby asked.
"The Shop is a medicinal shop where we make and sell all sorts of potions that have all sorts of effects. We've got some to slow aging, others to cure sicknesses, illnesses and even to take stains out of things. All in all, potions with any effect that you could think of."
"Are there some that can give you the Sight?" Jo asked.
"Yes..." My voice felt heavy on my tongue. "But their cost is high. You might even have to sacrifice an eye to Issa-san to buy such a potion."
"Oh. Do you know how my Dad got the Sight? I don't have it, but he still wants me to do the same job as him."
"Oh, you're family probably has a huge batch of that potion I mentioned. If they know the recepy, all they have to do is make it after all. It only holds such a high cost at the Shop, after all." To myself I added: "For a reason, however..."
"Back on track. What're we going to do about Sayanel?" Kyuu asked.
"Let's confront him tomorrow, when he comes back."
"Its a plan!"
"Lame plan."
"Doesn't matter, as long as we have something."
