Hi, soooo I just wanted to let you know before we got started that this chapter may contain some trigger warnings. There is a crime scene where the body is mutilated, and then there is a scene depicting loss and grief. Anyhow, here we go!

It had been three weeks since her and Ryliel's arrival on Earth. THREE DAMN WEEKS! And they still had made no progress. They had guessed that Marliel would wait a few months before following through with the prophecy, but really, they had absolutely no idea when she would decide to show up.

Hell, she could come down and snatch Chloe Decker right this moment, or she could come decades from now.

They really had no clue, and each second that went by, was more leverage in Marliel's favor. Irisia knew that she promised to wait until last minute if they went through with killing the little human, but they didn't truly know when that last minute would be. For all they knew, it could have already passed.

Irisia was currently making her way into an old abandoned warehouse (humans seemed to enjoy committing murder in abandoned warehouses), where the latest crime scene was. Irisia didn't want to admit it, but she didn't dread coming to boring crime scenes as much as she had initially. But she would still prefer to do a number of things.

Though, this case was supposed to be unique. Ella had called her (how that chirpy human knew her phone number, she had no idea) and said that this was a doozy, and they might need all the help they could get. She didn't elaborate, which had left the angel curious.

It had taken her a moment to find Samael among the humans milling around. Standing beside him were the humans Chloe, Dan, Ella, and the demon Mazikeen. Wait. Mazikeen?

Why was she here? The five of them appeared to be in deep discussion about something. So far, Irisia had seen no body. Though she hadn't looked too hard. She made her way towards her brother. Once she got there, she gave the demon one curious glance, then decided to ignore her. Samael raised his eyebrows when he saw her. He then shoved his hands in his pockets, and asked "Iris? What are you doing here?"

"I'm assuming same reason as you."

"Oh, right." Samael nodded, a little too hard to be casual. "Well, we don't need your help, so you could be on your merry way." Samael then tried to maneuver her back towards the door.

"What?" Irisia asked incredulously as she drove her heels into the ground. Mazikeen scoffed in the background. "No, Lucifer, let her stay." She said with arrogance. Samael glared at the demon.

Irisia was quickly becoming very annoyed. She hated being left outside the loop almost as much as she hated being interrupted. "What exactly is going on here?" Irisia demanded. She looked at the humans, but they seemed just as confused as she did. Probably for different reasons.

She turned towards her brother, raising a single eyebrow in question. "What exactly is going on here?" She repeated but with more hostility.

Samael sighed, and moved his hands back to his pockets. "Trust me, Iris. You don't want to be apart of this case."

Irisia frowned. Why wouldn't she want to be apart of this case? She could handle more than most humans. Very little bothered her. Why wouldn't she want to be apart of it? "Actually, I think she would just love to be apart of this one." Mazikeen said with that same arrogance.
